Tolerates bullying quite well despite “zero tolerance” claims
Failed to address the ongoing bullying of my child, took minimal action to prevent it from continuing, and imposed no consequences on the perpetrators, despite receiving evidence multiple times. The deputy head at the time showed little interest in resolving the issue, appearing more focused on personal matters. As a result, my child was left feeling vulnerable and unsafe.
Since having children 18 years ago, i have prided myself on making sure my kids receive the best education i can provide them.
Boy....i messed up sending my son here. Never never again. Some really ñice teachers....but the head, founding head and deputy head are oxygen thieves and lie to Ofsted
Holyport College my seem like a 5/5 when served out on a silver plater, but unfortunately it is absolutely horrible. It will not only have your kids feel unsafe, but the teachers and heads are useless at their jobs (apart from a few who should get massive raises or find a better work environment!). The food is ridiculous. The headmaster and deputy CANNOT do their jobs. The boarding environment and enjoyment is NOT of expectation. The school does not inform you of necessities needed for the kids, ultimately effecting their grades. Absolutely nothing good comes out of this school and they should be taken off any fund Eton College provides for them. I would give negative stars here, but unfortunately such a website doesn’t think schools as bad as Holyport College are possible!!!
My child attended this school for a time. On paper it sounds amazing but given their experiences I did some further research.
Places are offered following criteria in order of priority: The number one criteria is ‘looked after or previously looked after children’. Let that sink in. First dibs on places at this school are given to children who are in the care system. The ratio of children who were ‘looked after or previously looked after’ are not disclosed but given what my child witnessed I’m guessing it is high. They have priority over children who have siblings attending and children who live in the catchment area.
It’s much cheaper for the government to pay for looked after or previously looked after children’ to be educated there than it is to keep them in residential care.
These children did not find themselves in the care system because their home lives and backgrounds were wonderful. They have inherent issues and learned behaviours that will seriously affect your child.
My child has ptsd and still has nightmares. The bullying that took place was extreme - and beyond what could be expected in a normal school environment.
Do your research before opting for what I now consider to be a social experiment.
WOULD GIVE IT A 0 the deputy head is a real idiot the food is really bad and isn’t clean rude staff don’t recommend it not safe environment didn’t handle bullying well at all !!!
Bad quality spent my time being hurt and SA I feel the school didn’t deal with it properly the pursing who did it did it to others the person wasn’t removed from the school don’t recommend felt unsafe never helped me and most students encourage others to do things
Holyport college is a school built off of lies and deception. I was bullied by my whole year (apart from two people) for being different and having severe anxiety disorders. The head teacher and other senior members would avoid me like the plague as they clearly didn’t want to deal with me . There was a “welfare” room where three members of staff who would sit and supposedly help you out. Most of the time they did not, on many occasions I would be in there crying or having a panic attack and all they would do is ignore me or come over to me and get in my face telling me I need to go to my lessons. Sometimes they would write notes talking about me in a horrible way. The schools motto is aspire, achieve, succeed . This school did nothing to aspire me, nor did it help me to achieve or succeed. If anything it did the opposite. I have now moved school, but struggle with PTSD and trauma due to this school’s staff and pupils. What may look like a really good school that gets excellent grades, has links with eton college and has an ofsted outstanding is not be aware they will lie to your faces repeatedly and are not able to communicate with your parents well. It is like a prison.
