The teachers are condescending, the students are homophobic and rude. The food is way over priced. (Eg.a small pot of watermelon, around 7 pieces of cubs 1x1inch is about £4) the facilities are dirty and disgusting. You need a toilet pass to go to the toilet in lesson and most of the time aren’t even allowed one.
some teachers are great and the behaviour is not bad the headteachers are horrible though!!
The rules are so strict and they have absolutely no leniency and genuinely should not be teachers. Everyone hates them
As a former student I would not recommend this school to anyone.
Apart from a small handful, the teachers are abysmal and fail to support students massively.
After completing my GCSE’s at this school and receiving a relatively poor set of results, I attended a local college and received 3 A grades in my A-levels… this would have never have been possible if I stayed at Hinchley wood secondary school.
In addition to this the school fails massively at being inclusive of students from different backgrounds including working class students and POC students- blatant classism and racism from both students and teachers alike.
This school has lovely teachers, students and ways of teaching. Teachers CAN get a bit iffy but the teachers are ok.. i guess.
The doors are unlocked for sixth formers to go in and out, yet there are no teachers on the gate!?
I had a wonderful time at this school, over the full 7 years that I was there, for my GCSEs and A-levels. Obviously there are still areas of the school that need improving, but overall I think Hinchley Wood is a really good school in many aspects. Particular highlights include many outstanding teachers and the Leaders in Diversity group.
