Absolutely rubbish if you ask me, first week in and got a detention for earrings and skirt length. I was shocked to say the least. I’ve had my pe shirt stolen, wasn’t given back for about a month. I’ve had full arguments with teachers absolutely no reason, this school is a step of from the other schools in the area but I regret going here
Hinchingbrooke is a lovely school my 2 children both attend and have both done science leaving primary, I would 100% recommend this school to anyone local and so far have had no issues
i go to the school, all they care about is there image, they are rated lower than one of my primarys I'm pretty sure that 'image' is ruined and the teachers give their children privileges. their learning methods dropped my grades and their highest students levels are a D!! all they care about is you turning up so they don't lose money.
I go there now and they don’t care about you what so ever I was covered in yogurt the other day for example and all the cared about was my boots ( they don’t like boots ) and they didn’t help me or my friend but give us a wipe each and they didn’t tell that person off and al they do for anxiety is talk to your head of year once a week which isn’t helpful because they question you like a private investigator which is why I want to leave also the teachers have kids there and they favourite them and their friends and they get privileges and if they see this I don’t care it’s the truth they only care about their image and I don’t feel safe there personally I can’t begin to explain how horrible it is not feeling safe there once I had a male pe teacher staring at my butt and I’m a female and that man was like 70 and the school didn’t cause my anxiety and stuff I had it before but u will say not feeling safe there does make the issues worse and they don’t do anything the image is all they care about they just make us compete to be the best and to get a good image for them for example my friend was floored and a teacher just stood there staring and then my other friend pointed it out because we saw them staring then helped them after staring I would never send any kid there honestly I’ve had so many panic attacks and so many times I’ve faked illnesses due to how unsafe I am there honestly it’s scary to think about how many times
My child experience severe bullying at this school and despite countless emails back and forth to so called ‘wellbeing officers’ and ‘student support officers’, nothing ever happened. I sent in evidence of my child being bullied, ranging from posts that contained threatening language about my child to showing phone calls that my child had received which told my child to ‘kill themselves’! Nothing was ever done from this, and to top it off my child was put in seating plans next to the bullies, the only advice we were given was that my child should remove social media so that they do not see the posts. The level of care is abysmal and disgusting, as is the teaching standard, none of the staff clearly know anything about their subjects or have any common sense and this school is in need of reform and intervention!
this school cares more about appearances than it does about their actual students. all of the teachers would rather be parading around giving detentions to the girls with skirts a little too short, than actually teach a lesson. none of the staff cares about mental health or bullying. there is never enough food in the canteen to feed every pupil and if your not at the front of the food line you will spend your whole lunch queuing only for you to get to the counter and see nothing left. some of the teachers are nice but none of them really care about anything but their pay checks (that’s what it seems like). i’m a student at hbk and i would never recommend it to anybody.
In all honesty this school cares more about image than anything else. Teachers spend more time ridiculing students on skirt lengths and what colour socks you're wearing than doing their actual jobs. Any good grades produced from that school are a product of the students hard work, not the schools. The SEND team at the school most certainly do not care about helping your child with learning and will repeatedly tell you to basically use your own resources and that 'there is nothing we can do'. Ironic for a fully funded SEND team if you ask me. The teachers are bored and clearly uninterested in their job and fail to want to help your child progress. No wonder the grades are slipping. The priorities in this school are abysmal and are in urgent need of improvement.
This school does not cope well with anything that isn’t perfect uniform and students that form a banter relationship with their teachers. I can say I was only ever fond of 1 teacher throughout my entire 5 years there, reason being that the care by your teachers and those in pastoral care don’t seem to actually care enough about students individually. The population of the school is so big that personalised care is out of the window. Of course, I cannot speak on behalf of any services they provide outside of teaching e.g therapy or behavioural management, but from what i experienced as a fairly normal kid, the care was appalling. Had one major account of bullying in year 10, contacted head of year, had one meeting between myself and said bully (went awfully) and that was the end of that. Teaching throughout COVID was one to none; primarily work sheets to fill in to teach myself the lessons, with hardly any zoom calls. Many teachers were not fit to have the role as a teacher, either being clearly under-qualified, think they have far too much power, uncaring, boring, the list could go on. I also found that as I aged and became more mature, I was still treated the exact same as that of a year 7. I was given little to no independence where it was needed, given instructions that were either self explanatory or undermining, very little help when I was clearly struggling in certain subjects, and most of all, an extortionately low amount of recognition when things did go right. It was always a how to do better or a well done to the best of the best or ‘you’ve all disappointed me in these grades’, never an in the moment thing of individual congratulations which ultimately lowered my self esteem in education more than anything. There’s really not much good I can say about this school. I could not stand another two years mentally there for sixth form so I moved to a different sixth form when year 12 came around. I realised just how much my new peers were treated differently in secondary school, to myself, and now how much differently I was being treated in that sixth form. You’re treated as nothing more than a number, with no individuality at Hinchingbrooke School.
Teaching is meh. Some of the teachers are good but not all. Some pastoral staff don’t seem to care about you - don’t help when you go to them with issues. Students aren’t brilliant - lots of low level disruption and teachers don’t control it well. The grounds are okay but a little poorly kept in places. Food from the canteen is alright, but the prices are ridiculously high.
i do not care about hinchingbrooke as all they care about is ** ********* £1milion astro field and their pe program anything else they dont care about, getting bullied? who cares!
