Racist teachers. Way too strict on uniform even for a grammar school. NOT understanding at all and nearly all staff is extremely rude and admit to disliking the children.
The school do expect a lot from students but do try and help you get to a point where you are exceeding what they expect and doing your best as well as reaching your goals. The support managers help the best they can with offering mostly helpful and relevant advice in a caring manner. The food isn't great but it is a school meal so you can't expect much.
The school do expect a lot from pupils but also try as much as they can to find ways to get you to a point where you exceed their expectations and do as well as you can. There are so many extracurriculars and loads of options if you are sporty especially. While lots of students do struggle with mental health in rare cases it is to do with the school and the support managers give useful and relevant advice in a caring way.
The teachers in general do care about how their students progress and their wellbeing. A nice environment of course a couple of the students can make things not as nice for a few but that isn't a fault of the school itself. Food isn't amazing but at the end of the day it is a school lunch you can't expect too much. The school is very much a community and close knit. I enjoy the school and learn a lot.
Academically very strong, with a great pastoral set-up. The girls seem to be taught studying and self-discipline skills right from the start, and there are loads of extra-curricular activities on offer. Teachers are kind and responsive. Food could be better but they take lunch in with them. Very happy with the decision to send my daughters here, and most importantly, so are they.
The teachers are supportive and nice and the students aren’t too bad.
The mental health care system is greater than most schools as there is 7 student support managers and many councillors but unfortunately the school has a lot of students with eating disorders and who struggle with self-harm as those mental health issues are normalised there and seemingly part of the culture.
The education is on the higher end but the school will rarely send home work if you miss it.
The school outside isn’t that big and so the students have designated classrooms they go to at lunch and break.
The food is decent and I don’t think anyone would be adverse to eating from the canteen but there isn’t much food provided (as i said before, there is an eating disorder culture at this school) and a lot of plastic involved.
At break and lunch you’re not allowed to play with PE equipment like tennis balls or volley balls which I think is discouraging physical activities.
My child was bullied at this school for a considerable time, the staff were fully aware but refused to take action . Staff seemed more concerned with pupils grades than the child’s safety and well-being . Academically , the school is ok, assuming you have a child that wishes to learn and put the effort in . I would not recommend this school to anyone. Many pupils struggling with mental health and other issues . This school failed my child all but academically, purely because their own learning standards were high .
This school is atrocious! For a first, they don’t care about what children say and don’t take them seriously. I asked for a pencil and received a brown pen to do my work with. The food is revolting and not even safe to eat. The chicken was raw and not even seasoned. And the chips were dryer than the Sahara Desert. I would’ve been better off eating cardboard. Don’t send ur kids to this school if u care about them!!!
its a good school tbh. some teachers suck but most are really good, theres a lot of motivation needed and there is a lot of pressure put on you. my best advice is dont do french gcse. the food is so mank and lots of ppl joke about getting food poisoning but the hot chocolate is really good. the English and re departments are amazing imo. physics department aint at all LOL. invest in a physics tutor if u go here. theyre not that strict tbh, except the maths department, theyre built different. ive never heard of bullying being a problem here and tbh theres like hardly any fights so that good. lots of drama tho, especially in like year 8-10. i recommend it tho, if ur smart or hardworking.the environment is quiet toxic in the sense that everything feels like a competition and everyone always wants to get the best and they make out like a 6 isn't good and its like- 6 is b... so its an issue for a lot of our mental health but it is motivating in a sense.
