Don't bother with this school

Senco doesn't want to provide support doesn't even know what autism masking is. Not bothered about bullying I've removed 2 out of my 4 from this school and will not be sending my younger ones needs a serious shake up!

Congratulations on being awful.

The teachers are emotionally manipulative as well as pushovers with the bad students as they do not tell them off when they are bullying. Also they are always let off the hook, whilst doing something as simple as not doing homework with excuses (as I’m not excusing not doing homework on purpose) is given a detention and if they are poor and cannot afford transport to get back home this kind of thing is not put into consideration . About the teachers: they are very ignorant and cold even if you want to talk to them behind class about something serious or about the work. They treat you as if you are something off of the bottom of their shoe. They don’t want anything to do with you and only want their cheque at the end of the day. You are nothing to them. We are nothing to the headteacher (or should I say the executive teacher which just means that she gets paid more and she has a fancy title).

Headlands school: a ‘good’ school?

Unfortunately, as much nostalgia and memories of this school I’m gonna have, the school has kind of downgraded over the years. The passion and care that the staff have had for the students and their happiness and education has degraded: this can be seen in areas literally such as the corridors, with them not being properly watched over by staff. With abuse from student to student and vice Verda taking place. Most commonly, nothing is done. Also word is that sixth-formers have had it hard: From the the changing of rooms, rules (they change them as they go) and teachers. Additionally, their new area has no way up but stairs. This will inevitably doom the sixth form if there is a handicapped student who wants to go to sixth-form. Finally, the school as a whole shows no concern for any problems, and they only have one priority: their wallets.

'nourishing school'? I think not!

I'm currently a student at this school and only got about a year and a half left thank god. Do not bother with this school! Unless of course you want to suffer with migraines and constipation due to not drinking, all because you know teachers will not let you go to the toilet. One teacher even told me to control my period flow! It seems the teachers are too busy dictating when someone goes to the toilet rather than dealing with the abundance of bullying that occurs and goes uncared for. Using the toilet is a basic human right I mean come on you literally praise yourself on being a 'nourishing school' that cares about students well beings ,well not letting them use the toilet is not nourishing you hypocrites! This is forgetting to mention during lessons they lock the toilets! This school is dystopian in its ruling and seems very fond of the use of passes, literally have to force a diagnosis that you don't even need out of the doctor when all u actually need is just to go to the toilet all in order to get a toilet pass, your not even safe with that though! They can remove it if you 'use it too often' ,another pass being you can jump the entire lunch queue just for coming to school about 3 more days more than another people, well sorry for getting ill! What will be the next pass? 'breathing oxygen pass'?? Its also really shocking that when going to the doctor regarding constipation the doctor literally guessed it was Headlands school and told us hat they have loads of people coming in with similar issues due to this schools rules and the doctor finds it disgusting how you are stopping someone using the toilet in the 21st century- its not the Victorian times anymore! I honestly would not recommend this place, I'm currently in year 10 so luckily not long left in this prison for me now.

Very poor experience

Treats their neurodiverse students badly, by writing negative comments for students that cant help their difficulties such as not doing something in the set timing even if they are dyslexic. They wasn't helpful with bullying, only did one way of learning (copying down from a PowerPoint) which isn't helpful for teenagers with neurological disabilities such as ADHD or autism. Answering teachers questions was seen as talking back, teachers abused their power. Some teachers (Mrs Bannister) the art teacher spoke about students behind their back. The only people this school can be seen as good to is people without learning disadvantages or mental health issues. They dont support students with mental health issues well, i knew plenty of students who wanted to throw up from anxiety before going to school because of the community and what the teachers wouldn't do to sort it. Not to mention one teacher said he controlled the class through "fear", if they fear you they wont challenge you will they? Challenging behaviour is a way of communication and a scream for help you all ignore. Do better!
