Now Hurst Lodge - Honestly.. Do your research if you have a SEN child. Failed so many children. Don’t follow EHCPs - get lots of funding but it’s not used for the children. Sencos are dreadful. Teaching is mostly unqualified and we saw very little progress. Do not expect anything to assist individual needs. Communication is very poor. Senior Leaders and there are ALOT are not child centred. No indoor PE is a real fail, no library, no dance and drama, no foreign languages. It’s just a real big disappointment and if you dare address concerns you and your child will suffer. Staff are not qualified in SEN and they use ABA despite telling you they don’t - they do. High turnover of pupils and staff.
No returned calls when requested, main and support staff constantly leaving due to ineffective and bullying style management, school about to move location for the third time in a few years, basics not supplied including stationary, abrupt and poor senior staff. A shame as the staffi spoke to gave all to the children but were totally let down and undermined by staff who clearly have never been Teachers. This is a school not just a business. Until the senior staff leave I would avoid your children coming here if you want the best for them.
I was due to send my children here but based on discussions with both parents and friends who are in education, including this school, I have placed them elsewhere.
Great shame as the school is now very local following it's first move, is in a lovely location but is totally ineffective.
Used to be amazing when it was Hawley Place.
Under new management has made it go downhill.
No money to even try to make it better anymore, questionable and a waste of time to try going there. Honestly, better off ANYWHERE else but HawleyHurst/Hurst Lodge and you can ask ANY previous student/parent of student.
