been at this school for 5 years,my personal experience has been awful. do not deal with situations well and they preach mental health but do barely anything about it. rules with hair colour etc are way too strict, acting like its a private school. dirty building and classrooms and genuinely just run down
Hadleigh high school is extremely disappointing, very undeveloped extremely dirty and out of date, the environment is a state of tyranny. Behaviour situations are always dealt with poorly children are followed into toilets by teachers would never recommend
Doesn’t deal with bullying very well (if at all), some teaching staff are amazing but that’s only a handful the rest unnecessarily hand out punishment for no apparent reason, the school is way to strict on hair styles and colour ( only one block natural colour and no shorter than a number 2) and with the new uniform introduced last year the school has become way more strict and now students have to ask to take jumpers off
Great school with great environment. The ethos of “Aim High, Work Hard and Be Kind” is reflected in near to all of the students and even teachers, of which you can tell love working there and helping students to grow their mindsets. The homework system in place is an empowering system, that beats many other schools. The handling of bullying at the school is great, when there is a problem (a rare occasion) the correct sanctions are put in place to help the student learn from their mistake. The positive and negative system in the school also gives a real insight to the way behaviour is managed. You can be awarded positive points or negative points, much like other schools. Class sizes are about 30 students to 1 teacher and the teaching standards at the school are amazing. Twice yearly knowledge tests help to find the gaps in your knowledge and fill them.
teachers are nice but the way they deal with bullying and the stupidly strict rules on uniform and appearance are ridiculous and in all honesty the management and where priorities are is not very good while it’s certainly possible to get a good education there changes are needed
Terrible management. Wiped off of the system twice after return from lockdown, poor execution of anti bullying methods or creating a safe space, the rules regarding hair are very unnecessary such as it must be smart, no shorter than a 2 and only natural colours. Lied about GCSE options on my induction day, told me I could continue with my old school work then was not allowed. I personally would not recommend this school, although I agree with their motive “how would my kid feel” I feel the execution is not the best.
