Teachers great cannot fault support they tried to give my son. The school though is run by a Head who is only interested in high flying students getting into top universities and they are all that are recognised or given chances. Raise concerns in relation to your child and they are not in that group and pursue them she will take action against you.
If you have a child with SEN look elsewhere. Despite attempts of SEN teams they will not get any opportunities or meet their capability. She will tick boxes for Ofsted and AET but support does not meet needs, not monitored and not reviewed.
SEN staff overworked and very underpaid particularly SEN Graduates. Cannot fault the efforts of my son's support in the last year which SENCO put in place but too little late. Was told by Head in year 10 his EHCP not down to her it was local authority although she put in writing she was not meeting his needs. She refused to review or do anything to ensure he had support needed. External complaint to an Ombudsman determined a year later at end of year 11 failure to have an appropriate EHCP and failures by LA caused him injustice. Had she made same effort to support and as she does for students applying to top rank universities my son may have left with something.
As a result my son left without one single GCSE at 4.
They couldn’t give two if you are getting bullied the teachers just want an easy life and so are friends with the bullies. Sexual harassment is not taken seriously and they are lazy and rude. They don’t care about the children as long as their pay check keep on coming in. The food is poor quality and extremely unhealthy and greasy you have to pay £1.50 for 3 miniature chicken nuggets that taste like dog poo and will give you diabetes. They claim they are setting us up for life when really they are just breaking our bank accounts. Two of the dinner lady’s are really nice and lovely lady’s but the others are kinda rude ngl. The school school is really sexist in le the boys have to run loads more than the girls they do different sports and personally there may be a very good reason but I am yet to find it. The only that matters to them is reputation and yes I understand that that’s important but why fake it when you could make the school as good as it seems to the outside world.
(left gwa in 2022) Does absolutely nothing about sexual harassment/stalking/bullying/actual rapists etc. Half the sixth form boys at the moment all have gotten away w accusations. Rape culture is extremely prevalent in later year groups. The teachers (not counting head of years/general staff etc) are alright but the best ones are constantly overworked. Current headteacher has made it very clear that student morale is not a priority, as well as multiple head of years. I have a relative that’s currently in year 11 who struggles with mental health and her head of year was so unsympathetic with making the smallest exceptions for her that would not affect her education in the slightest, and she was forced to comply or she would have been barred from things like prom. According to other parents this is very common among people in her year group with mental health issues. This school is definitely only going to get worse so do not send your kids here lol
