Bad school

Graveney only care about there reputation and not your child this is seen from previous incidents with my daughter (she has mental health) and they decided to kick her out due to the fact they cannot handle a minor incident they are full of sh** I DO NOT RECOMMEND unhygienic and teachers are rude and just lazy attention seeking nobs

Terrible school! Some senior teachers encourage and instigate bullying towards vulnerable students. They fail to resolve issues and cause heightened levels of anxiety and trauma. The schools attitude along with senior teachers towards mental health issues, disabilities and vulnerable students absolutely stinks! This school has never and never will deserve the "outstanding" status they receive from Ofsted. They deserve the lowest rating. Ashamed to have gone to school here.

Graveney A School That Falls Short of Its Reputation

Graveney is not the best choice for those who require extra support, particularly children with SEND. The school’s environment can be challenging, and parents may find that the level of support does not always meet their child’s needs.

The SEND department is dysfunctional and lacks communication. EHCP provisions are not consistently met, and adjustments are sometimes made without consent or proper communication with parents or the local authority.

The school's policies and website present it as a place that understands and supports neurodiverse children. In reality, the staff holds outdated views, lacks proper training, and has little experience in this area. The SEND lead and department are failing many students, creating an environment where these children are not truly welcomed—leading families to leave. Complaints from parents are not taken seriously, nor are they properly addressed by the leadership team. Furthermore, very few teachers have an understanding of childhood trauma. While a pastoral team exists, it is underutilized, and in the lower school, certain staff members seem more focused on protecting each other than genuinely supporting students.

The senior leadership team (SLT) lacks a background in teaching, and the school does not function cohesively as a team. There is poor communication between staff, and even less with parents and students, leading to situations that could put students at risk. Some of the principal’s communication comes across as elitist and dismissive, revealing a clear lack of understanding of how the school truly operates.

Bullying of vulnerable children is not addressed as swiftly as the OFSTED report suggests—unless the child comes from an influential background. It seems the school only takes action if an incident is caught on CCTV, and even then, punishments are applied inconsistently. There is a clear double standard, leading to discrimination.

It seems the school prioritizes academic performance, sports, and music achievements over the overall well-being of its students. While the teaching quality is generally good, there is a noticeable discrepancy in how extension classes are treated compared to other forms. Additionally, some teachers, especially in Computing, seem to lack sufficient expertise, as we observed errors in both homework and the information provided. There are far too many layers of management, making it difficult to know who is responsible for what or who to contact. Throughout our time at the school, our child's tutor never reached out to us.

The school requires an excessive amount of uniform with logos, driving up costs while the quality remains poor.

All in all, it’s hard to understand how this school has received outstanding OFSTED reports and remains oversubscribed, given that it clearly does not meet the standards it should.

Graveney experience

Good education, poor support in terms of race, gender, mental health, bullying and lots of other issues. They don’t really care if you aren’t of white background
