Goodwin Academy

Previously knowing this school, it is so bad and horrible for kids doing drugs etc I immediately pulled my daughter out after finding out her class was giving out vapes. Wouldn’t go here very bad.

goodwin academy is probally one of the worst schools in kent.They have this room now called harbor, and they lock u in so no one can get out, plus your not even aloud to go to the toltet? i mean how unfair, sitting in a room, no tolet, no water. and unifrom? blazers must be on. i mean come on, they all want us to look the same, its a school with a bunch of teens, who express how they look. nails lashes are againts the dress code. i mean how stupid. this school has staff that are rude, dont think about are mental health, how we feel, and now if ur upset they shove u in bay and then boom its the harbor? if ur late u get sent here. these rules need to stop and stop locking childrend in a room.

This school must be the worst school in Kent the students at this school are dreadful the behaviour is terrible there are people carrying knives drugs and some even use pawn hub from what I have heard if you want me to tell you some if the dangers in the school here they are Harry Reynolds who should be kicked out and fucing Cole Hyland the biggest perv on the planet who only got suspended for a few days how thick is this school I am ashamed to go to this prison of a place it is living torture there were parents protesting on one day miss moon the head cares more about flicking uniform than behaviour and as for the harbour and the flicking bay you can shove it up ur ass thank you very much. Locking students in rooms is illegal and I hope the school see this actually as this is my personal review thank you.

The schools absolutely horrendous the teachers are more concerned about what your wearing or a missing item such as blazer/tie/ect. Mrs moon the new head teacher thinks its okay to start locking doors in the school that only teachers are able to leave and your are expected to stay in your seat until you get to leave, you get sent out of class for taking a sip of your drink, if your more than 1 minute late to lesson you immediately get sent to “harbour”. Mr barnes ,the one who started up the creepy music that gets played every day every hour for the whole school to hear which indicates you must be in your lesson by the time the music stops.Not once did they ever deal with any problems i was having and i was allowed to be bullied for years and they did nothing. your also not allowed to go to the toilet during lesson unless you have a “medical pass” do not send your child to goodwin academy.

The school in my opinion is rubbish and defenetly one of the worst in kent our science teacher hasn't been in for about a month. The behaviour is appaling children vertuly get away with murder i am in year 10 now and this school has only got worse students cary knifes people post nudes we have had very strange teachers around students they care more about uniform than behaviour which in my opinion is disgusting walking around the school you hear very much homophobic racist and rude languge the teachers hardly do anything about this half the teachers are to nice aned don't punish the students. i was doing a pantomime and got questioned for wearing make up but if a girl wore that they probably wouldn't have been questioned so overall i think Goodwin is a very bad school!!!!

Genuinely hate this school so much. Firstly, they say they care about our mental health and wellbeing but they dont. How do I know this? Well if you go to a support teacher (safeguarding or behaviour etc) saying someones been bullying you for — months or something they dont do anything bur give a phone call home and maybe, just maybe, they have a ‘little chat’ with said bully yet when you go to them saying someones said whatever to you once they give them a detention or something. Secondly, unfortunately in my class theres a very ‘weird’ teacher, he makes everyone uncomfortable and has done multiple inappropriate things to/in-front of students and me and my friends have reported him many times, the only thing thats been done is me being pulled out of class to talk about it with safeguarding privately (incident I was meant to be talking to them about was him locking both our science classroom doors without there being any reason to) I told them exactly what he’s done and the other things he has done and all they said was “Well he has a right to lock the door if a student is being disruptive”, a student poked her head in and said hi to her friends twice, I dont think thats an excuse to lock the doors and if you read schools policy it actually says to only lock doors if the school goes on lockdown. Theres quite a few other things I can say but I cant find the words at the moment to explain it all. All you need to know is, its a crap school and dont send your kids here if you dont have to. Goodwin Academy struggles with many things. Common sense is one of them. The high-level staff of the school are out of touch with reality and make ridiculous decisions without consulting teachers or students. The SLT of Goodwin reminds me of a puppet government more than a school. The school is run robotically with little thought - success in this school is measured not by how good something is, but by how small or large the failure is. I have spent eight years at this school and over this time I have lost all confidence that the school cares about me (No thought or care has been given to my mental health issues or those of others), other students, its staff or its own purpose. Please do not go here. You will be wasting your own time.

Staff are very good and supportive, Some of the students swear alot but the teachers always tell them not too. Great behaviour system.

Not a good place to be for anyone.
