If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. We're in the 21st century, not some draconian era. The rigid rules here seem designed for a select few, yet they impose them on everyone with zero tolerance or empathy, leaving students feeling discouraged and with low self-esteem. School should be a place for nurturing, empowerment, and education – not a space where you're humiliated for how you dress or look, especially when the teachers don’t even follow the same standards.
The education here is mechanical and soulless, leaving no room for creativity or personal growth. It’s just a box-ticking, results-driven system that cares more about numbers than actual learning
They don't do anything about bullying teachers walk around BARE FOOT (very unhygienic if you ask me) also like half of the teachers are racist and like its a good school but its just so bad like the food and the toilets like do not send your children there
i attended at GA and the school is like living hell, they only care bout attendance nothing else they don’t care about mental health they seem like they do but they don’t, they always say ur mental health matters but whenever u wanna talk to a staff they don’t listen to u and they send u back to lessons. the teachers are only there because clearly hate their jobs and they are there for money
do not care about mental health. are so strict about anything and everything and have completely ruined my daughters mental health. sent her to isolation for crying
The school is bad, they are so strict and when there are visitors they put on a mask and when the vistors leave it goes back to normal. Everyone hates it at gloucester academy, there is so much bullying and discrinstion.
The school is great and all, but they ignore Transgender mental health. You see them with all the boys and girls, giving them as much support as they can, but when it comes to transgender people they don't take action.
Let's say that a Year 8 girl was getting bullied, she'd get pulled out of class to talk about it and give names so the school can take action. When it comes to the trans people, they ignore it. The students could be shouting f slurs, or the t slur to someone, and the teachers would just stand there and let it happen.
No one seems to care about trans women, trans men, non binary people etc. They just ignore their mental health.
When it comes to bullying at Gloucester Academy, they sit there and say "Oh, just ignore it." but they don't understand when you ignore you get more and more bullied.
Homophobia and Transphobia is a hate crime, yet the school doesn't do anything?
When you come to them for mental health support, a lot of the time they will say "Well, others have it worse then you". It's honestly terrible, and everyone keeps saying the school has gotten better yet they let stuff like this happen?
I am a student who attends Gloucester Academy, and some of the teachers can get rude as heck.
They're marking down when you borrow supplies off of the school, and when the students vandalise the toilets they have banned students from going to the toilet during class time, but what if the student is bursting to go? They still won't let them go.
There is vandalism in the girls bathroom, I don't know about the boys, but the school isn't really doing anything about it.
Some of the teachers send people to RFL (Isolation) for no reason. The student may have dyslexia and when some of the teachers cannot read it they do a swat warning. Or if the child has one swat already they go to RFL, for no reason?
A student has encountered a teacher and she thinks she can send him to RFL once, and do it again, for no reason.
It's honestly pathetic.
I can rant about this all day, but I'm afraid I cannot, there is many things wrong about this school.
I have been attending G.A for two years and 4 months. It was okay for the first two years but since the new trust came along, its messy and some policies are absolutely horrible. The headmaster himself was incredibly rude to my mother. For two days in a row, I had my phone removed from me because of issues that weren't my fault. (Falling out my blazer and Telesales) My mother was livid since there had been 2 rapes right by my house, around my age. So, she asked to speak to someone and got a call from the headmaster who was unaware of the rapes, said the whole situation was my fault and that if I had taken more care, I'd still have my phone.
Personally, the school and its curriculum are fine. Some of the teachers are outlandish but I can last a day. My issue is the social side, it is a very rude and horrible selection of students.
