do not ever go to this school unless you want to be bullied by teachers really bad for senco care eg:student's with autism adhd ocd and more.they do not care about your mental health or your opinions you get detentions for the silliest little things eg:forgetting your planner or wearing a 1mm too long earing or jewellery appalling behaviour from the school and they phone parents and carers over stupid things. They also need a new headteacher immediately.pastoral are useless and the staff are manipulating.
Experienced teacher misconduct, teacher still works there.
Atrocious school. I experienced teacher misconduct/inappropriate actions from a teacher who is still working at the school. This consisted of discussion of meeting outside of school after finishing a levels, hugging and physically comforting in awkward unnecessary ways, making uncomfortable physical contact during photography lessons at the school, creating a friendship/closer relationship and taking advantage of mental health/using this as a way to get to myself as-well as talking about non school related subjects for hours after school hours and more. The head teacher, head of sixthform and safeguarding lead all know of this, have experienced and witnessed some of this first hand and police have been involved but the teacher is still working at school without any consequence. I informed students I knew over social media and other students have found out but Friesland and all teachers have silenced students and threatened them with exclusion rather than dealing with the matter. Safeguarding is terrible at the school and they care more about protecting their image rather than protecting students and removing a teacher who has seriously damaged a former student and acted entirely inappropriately. Can only hope this doesn’t happen again to another student, I seriously don’t recommend Friesland school. (This happened last academic year.)
Safeguarding was terrible when at the school and issues we not seriously or properly dealt with. Specific teachers overstep boundaries with students forming more than a professional relationship and safeguarding trained staff dealt with the situation terribly. Mental health was seriously damaged of the student and the teacher still works there.
as a student who just left most teachers are very nice but the environment for students is terrible barely any protection is given against bullying as well as little to no support being given to students in the event of bullying and even if there is it takes weeks or months for any sort of response. Wouldn't recommend.one of my story's is that school left a bulling message in the toilets for days and was still there when I left even throw I told them multiple times. The school has a massive smoking and drug problem and the schools general response was to keep it quiet and the teachers would not do anything to stop them the dinner lady's were just rude and the food is over priced often cold sometimes the food is just raw, like chicken. Theft was really big and once my mother called up school saying a would be late but I still lost my break if your child is going to be late go up with them and go to reception to sign them in.
You get detention for the smallest things and everything is destroyed and the new food is absolutely awful and the headteacher is Scottish so don't go to this shit school
Gone down hill since Mr Monk left. Punishment after punishment. No support for child with extra needs. If you have a child under SENCO go to another school, this school only want perfect kids.
Good school in terms of academic teaching and a strong focus in PE and the arts. However the indoor environment of inclusion and diversity is jolted by “locker room” that surrounds the students and a high tolerance for serious racial issues as well as teachers turning a blind eye to racist and homophobic language. The curriculum is also not nearly as inclusive and often excludes students from participating in certain activities such as allowing girls to do football in PE or teaching a wide range of novels in English and in history.
All around I’d recommend the school but it needs improvement.
