Do not send your kids here if they are in any way neurodiverse

This place is an utter Nightmare for kids. They dont give a damn about children, only academic achievements. If your child is in anyway Neurodiverse please please do not send them here. They are just not equipped or compassionate enough to deal with these type of kids.

They will treat your kids with little respect, daily searches for equipment, detention for the smallest of things like not putting your pen down in time. The place is utter bonkers and needs investigating!

They will quickly try and off roll children they cannot deal with.

do NOT go here. Your mental health will be demolished.

School expects way too much, homework is extremely overwhelming, even as a year seven, you have to do 6 different things a week for homework. And a long with adjusting to homework and the new school, they encourage you to take part in clubs and other things, they don't tell you where any classes are, they just let you figure it out, which can end with you being extremely late to your class.

bedrock usually takes about 20 - 30 minutes per lesson for me, and the homework is two lessons a week, but they deeply encourage you to do more than 2, and this makes classes get extremely competitive over bedrock learning.

Sparx maths usually has 7 or 6 different tasks to do which takes about 10 -15 minutes each one, I personally don't have that much of an issue with sparx but I know lots struggle with it.
Then they tell us to create and answer 4 of our own quizzes on different subjects, I don't actually understand why.

This school has a big problem with girls rolling their skirts, I hear teachers say it about 50 times a day. They have unnecessary equipment checks and often do not do anything about bullying.

With the Lunch Lines, the stairs and hallways, you might as well play a rough game of rugby. You get shoved, and there's constantly someone squished against you.

The one way systems are absolutely ridiculous, your class could be just 5 steps through a door, but you have to go around the school, shoved through a hallway, up the stairs just to go down the stairs to get to your class.

Very poor school

Five acres high school is not a good or healthy environment for a child, it's only interest is academic achievement and fails miserably in basic humanity and mental health of the children that attend

It's ran like a dictatorship and basic children needs are not respected, it falls short in many areas of duty of care to it's students

They have a one fits all approach and try to clone every child into being the same and do not understand that everyone is different and learn at different speeds and levels

A number of the teachers do not treat the children with respect and speak to them in a really bad manner and certainly do not lead by an example that you would expect an adult to show a child

Even when going through complaints process they try to sway you from seeing the complaint through in an attempt to stop it going further

When children are ill they try to refuse the child going home, i have had to go and remove my daughter from the school due to her ringing me in tears as she was ill and they would not contact home and tried to keep there

This is not an isolated incident and there are other parents that have the same issues and various problems with the school and it's lack of care

They deny access to toilet use when needed and generally is a very poor school for humanity

Academic achievement it may succeed in, but by a bullying approach via lack of any form of human compassion and respect to a child's basic human rights

This school needs investigating about its practises and how children are treated while in their care

Wannabe private school

Five acres school is known for getting its students good results above there expected grade and higher than most other schools. However, as a student here I feel like they give us to much to do and not enough time to do it. We start school at about 8:30 and year 7-10 leave at 3 whereas year 11 have to stay on an extra hour and if they want an hour after that or if they have detentions (4-5). Students are then expected to go home and complete Seneca set by English teachers, science teachers, geography teachers, and history teachers (if they do those subjects). Students who do languages also get homework set. Maths teachers also set homework on a website called sparx and finally reading and 4 Lsqs (where you write 10 questions using the knowledge organiser and then, you must answer them without looking at the answers and then, mark them with the answers). The teachers also then expect you to revise at the same time when tests are coming up. The behaviour system is also terrible as you only get one warning prior to being sent to ap (isolation) and there is a history of students being sent for ridiculous reasons. This behaviour system also discourages students from standing up against public figures in the future for what is right, and it leads to damages in the students education as it means that they are not in the class with a teacher but are instead stuck with just a textbook.

Five acres high school is a school that favours the teachers by making rules that are unnecessary such as: you can’t roll your skirt up (when they go down to some people’s ankles), you can’t wear nail polish, you can only have one piercing, the piecing can only be a silver or gold plain stud, you can only have natural coloured hair etc. All but 1 of these rules have been broken by the teachers which I think is unfair as why can’t we express ourselves like the teachers.

When students come up for open days in year 5/6 they are only shown the good parts so I just wanted to help show the bad parts too as no school is perfect but, if you have chosen to send you child here just know that there are good parts to it such as many clubs available, amazing teachers, a range of opportunities to get involved in, the character education offer etc.
