Shocking school no communication no care and compassion bullying is terrible if your child has autism and adhd avoid at all costs there's nothing put in place they promise the world and deliver nothing short staffed daily fighting to the extent of kids been knocked unconscious and bad behaviour and disruption throughout the school AVOID AVOID AVOID
Seriously awful school - its making my children so depressed (and me too with the daily issues) and they are learning absolutely nothing. The school is really killing their spirits and I'm about to take them out. The school is more focused on constant discipline and just so power hungry - constant detentions, isolation and just pathetic handling of any matter - small or big. No teacher ever calls you back; they cant even tell you half the time where your children are and where they should be. Nights and days of anxiety and I really dont know what else to do.
this school is so bad. you will mostly get bullied by people in your year group or even older. if u want to be happier please go to another school. i don’t get how ofsted hasn’t closed this school down yet
Absolutely horrible, I’m a student here and the bullying I receive is unreal, teachers do nothing about it, just tell me to “ignore them” and when it continues they sweep it under the rug so they don’t have to deal with it, also they say they support mental health yet ever since I attended this school I have become depressed, anxious and I often have mental breakdowns. Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting too, you walk in and there’s drawings on the walls everywhere and pee everywhere and pads on the floor, not cleaned properly either, I asked a teacher if I could go to the toilet when I was on my period, (it was an emergency because I have a medical condition that makes my periods heavier and they know this) and they said no, even when I told them about my period, they didn’t let me go and told me to “hold it in”
Some lessons are alright but some teachers are absolutely ruthless and inexperienced as of late, can’t even control half of a class, let alone a full class and they often leave after the first 1 or 2 years, disrupting everybody’s learning, they also know about my mental problems and yet they treat me even worse than “normal” students, talking over me and not helping me with work at all, handing me difficult work and when I can’t do it to their standards they give me a progress comment or even a reset chat or phase 4.
Overall this school needs to get a grip respectfully, it’s honestly ridiculous how much fights break out too, at least 7 fights in a week or 4 fights, and teachers aren’t doing anything about it, just punish the ones on the spot, even if they did nothing wrong, I wish I never went to this school because I have lost a lot more than I did before I entered, and my grades have dropped a lot because the teachers are so inexperienced.
Principal is nice along with a lot of the teachers but the school itself is crap, I had to leave it not to long ago due to being assaulted and being threatened with a longer punishment, none of the teachers thought I was unsafe even after being cornered many times by the same person before the assault with her friends egging her on to punching me. DO NOT RECOMMEND
I don’t believe that this school has children’s best interests at heart at all. What they fail to realise is that when you punish children severely for little things like missing planners and untucked shirts, the fear of getting into trouble is taken away as it happens so frequently. Children then develop a “I no longer care” attitude and become despondent.
This school needs to get its priorities right. Planners and untucked shirts are not more important than a child’s well-being.
There are members of staff whose whole persona screams out “I don’t like children”. It makes me wonder why they have chosen this path in life and maybe they need to reassess their choices instead of making children’s life a misery. Their names crop up every time any child complains about this school. I am so glad my child only has a few days left. This school was never my first choice. Despite attending F.P many years ago when it was so much better.
Would have put 0 stars but that wasn't an option As the incompetence of so called Mr. Jones (headteacher) is infuriating he'd Rather teach geography than Keep the children and staff safe Picking on kids and making them feel uncomfortable not supporting his staff, Wouldn't recommend you sending your kids or working here until new leadership.
I lik skull but techer men. Dot be men to peple cuz peple bi sad. Anywa I hav ben getin beta at wods. I stil cat spel tho. I lik miranda but jak also lik miranda wich is vewy sad.
This school is not appropriate for any one that is neuro diverse.
Their lack of training and understanding of disability is terrible.
Only gold and silver learners are priority. Also if its bad weather at break times gold and silver learners are allowed in doors whilst the rest have to stay out side.
There is many staff members who are spiteful and petty.
The obsession with uniform planner and attendance is ridiculous.
The 5 year that my son attended that school was like a prison sentence.
They even tried to "manage move" my child mainly because they didn't want "naughty or problem children" at their school ..my child has neuro disabilities he's not naughty or a problem child.
Higher members of staff use their authority to try and intimate the children , bullies.
Communication is appalling and its difficult to get to speak to anyone ,often being told that person will call back but this never happends. They are very quick to tell you negative feedback or when something is not right ..but never any good feedback or never any follow ups for things that have gone wrong...they are quick to accuse and never apologise when they do wrong..As for the state of the school building it really could do with a cleen and some paint the heating was also turned off last winter as apparently the boiler was broken and they couldn't pay to fix it so students were wearning their coats in class rooms.
My child said there is no time to get food sometimes and the choice is terrible there is no good nutrition on the menu.
I will not be sending my other child or recommend this terrible school to anyone.
Children at this school should all be treated in the same was on my understanding that children who have gold and silver badges are treated very differently to all the other children so when its raining the gold and silver badge holders may go inside at break and lunch but all the other child are not allowed We had a very unpleasant experience at this School my child was not in school it was as some children call it waging it.
The School failed to notify us that my child was not in school that day my child was going through a very difficult time in his life and was very upset about all the negative feedback from firth park academy and also the other problems in there life with one teacher saying there is no point as your going to fail anyway so he decided to take the day off school without us knowing we only found out from our own child that evening when he broke down and told us evening that was getting them down.
I did contact the school and was told by them that yes as a school they did fail and it was there fault for not following there own procedure to make sure my child was safe in this school I was told that the school has many procedures to notify them that the child was in school and was never picked up on.
Thankfully my child only has a few weeks left at the School and we will not keep receiving Silly txt messages to tell us that your child was in a behaviour incident today as they forgot there planner forgetting something is not a behaviour problem why not try to help the children out instead of trying to score points on them to get them in to a detention its pathetic.
The School is very quick in sending messages about your child's behaviour but not to quick at telling parents that your child is not in school I've sent all relevant information to the education department and awaiting a response.
So please please reconsider and have a good look at this School before making any decisions to send your child to this Academy
They may be good for grades and how well you do on your gcse's but its at a cost. I myself have experienced bullying and they do not care and they are quite biased as alot of teachers are friends with students parents. Mental health is ignored and they put us under so much pressure for exams saying we will fail if we dont revise every day especially the maths department.
They always sweep mental health under the rug and when I asked if they could help me out with my anxiety they just gave very stupid solutions that ment they didnt have to do much. Its just laziness they dont care as long as you get the grades that make them look good and when ofsted come they change everything and act completely diferent they also do not give you enough time to get lunch at all most kids have to go without eating because of how short lunch is and its frustrating how teacher are aloud to just walk up and get food that we wait all lunch in line for.
