Apart from one or two individual members of staff who were good in helping my additional needs young adult who has an EHC plan from HCC not that helped at all
Please look at other colleges rather than FCOT who were inadequate in meeting my child's needs obstacles all the way which resulted in her leaving college worse then before at cove secondary which is another sorry tale to tell and without functional maths skills nor any good memories
No communication no feed back on why she left
Appalling
I for different reasons had as a parent a very negative experience of Farnborough college of technology in regard to my young adult learner daughter who had am EHC plan.
Poor communication poor Sen provision and support.
Was turned down for the vocational pathways course for slightly higher GCSEs despite COVID.
Turned down for any course she showed interest in and us as parents despite obtaining an EHC plan in autumn 2020.
Managed to scrap two level one BTECS.
Is easier and better to home educate using open university them look at the college.
Very disappointing poor communication and if like myself have a young adult child with SEN provision please look else where .
Save you.and your child a lot of unnecessary upset and.distress.
Doesn't even begin to cover the poor maths functional skills department came out with out a level one 🙁🙁
I had a negative experience with Farnborough College of Technology. I can only speak for the A-level and BTEC science departments. Everything seemed very rushed and last minute. There was little care for the students and overall I didn't feel particularly supported. We had eight biology teachers in two years and the chemistry teacher did not teach us well. We did air our views to the programme manager who didn't do anything to help us. I'm glad I left. Due to the fact the college doesn't cater specifically for the A-level and Applied Science BTEC, I felt almost as if we were forgotten about. The admin and programme managers also rejected our requests to talk to Ofsted about the treatment of the college. The college also spruced itself up when Ofsted came to the college by installing better labs and decorating it. They don't pay the teachers enough and the students weren't motivated at all. There was a lot of pressure on the teachers to do well and that negatively affected the class.
