Daily verbal abuse, nasty vile racist students. Lack of support from leaders in behaviour management. Preference given to students complaining rather than supporting colleagues in lesson with behaviour. No effective reflective follow up systems where students are held accountable for actions, you end teaching the same kids and having the same behaviour issues. Parents are passive and unsupportive.
I've been here 3 years and I hate it here, it's hell. I'd rather spend the rest of my days in a prison ( there's no difference between the two). I payed over £300 for uniform (wtf) And the rules are a joke. Line ups make me feel like I'm in a prison as I was barely a minute late and got held back and given a detention. My parents and everyone I've told about my school are appalled. The toilet rules are outrageous as well, 100 minute lessons were you can only go if you've got a doctors note. Even if they let you go you have to have an escort come bring you to the toilet. During lunch and break your only aloud to use the downstairs toilets and they are mostly busy.
The lunch line is a joke, no words at all. Esj, FIX YOUR LUNCH/BREAK QUEUES!!
I attended Epping years ago from 2014 to 2017. At the time, their approach to bullying was severely lacking. I witnessed a kid being punched repeatedly on the bus, and from what I overheard, they only collected witness statements from the friends of the kid who attacked him. Although he was later placed in a school for misbehaving kids, nothing was done about the other misbehaviour on buses. The drivers weren't told to say anything, even when they were verbally abused on the bus.
Throughout my time at the school, I refused to sit in the cafeteria for lunch, opting instead to sit in the SSC department. There was even one time when a teacher I absolutely despised kicked everyone out of the SSC because one of my friends acted out. This severely hindered my confidence. Only in college did I get to be myself.
From the rumours I've heard, they now admit more and more misbehaved kids and lack punishments for them. My confidence in everything affected my education. I would never allow any of my nieces and nephews to attend this school if the same principles still apply regarding handling misbehaviour with a slap on the wrist.
bit of a rubbish school. constantly changing teachers, have had at least 20 science teachers from year 7-11, with 6 of those being during year 8. the english department is decent though. bullying and neglect from teachers is not unusual, especially over covid-19. uniform is overpriced and the rules are insanely ridiculous. i decided to leave for sixth form, and i’m so glad that i did. definitely do not recommend. i got decent grades, but that was thanks to my own hard work and hardly any help from the school.
gets a bad rep from previous years without an academy but being here for over 6 years has shown me the schools consistent support, particularly with sixth form. as long as you’re putting in actual effort in your classes you will receive immense respect and support in return
