Wtffff

In Dylan thomas community school I've seen many students or people in my friend group suffer quite a bit from bullying, and what do the school do about this? NOTHING. What do the teachers also do about this? NOTHING.

This school will not help you with bullying whatsoever and will constantly say they'll do something even tho they will not... The school food is even worse as the hot food is sized as if it were meant for toddlers, the baguettes are always stale and hard, the plain water is usually sold out causing you to have to spend more money on tiny apple juices/a tiny carton of water, yes there are water fountains around the school but either 1) there's people crowding that area and there's a line or the water fountains aren't working.

The staff are even worse as they judge you if you look or seem different to other students, not only that they favour the popular kids who literally pick on others and don't do anything about it unless it's right in the teachers face.

Not only that, the teachers put you into seating plans away from your friends and if you have social anxiety and are hated by nearly your whole year then sucks for you! You now have to put up with people who don't like you and you don't like them! And not to mention if you even try and stick up for yourself people will wanna jump you, this school often has rubbish on the floors aswell which is unsanitary, fix your bloody school and actually get better staff who ACTUALLY DO THEIR JOBS.

Horrible school

Dylan thomas community school is a horrible is a horrible school, unless you want your child to be bullied, threatened, beaten and get slurs thrown at them then send them here.

I am currently a student at Dylan thomas community school and I physically cannot count how many times I've been bullied, in this school slurs are thrown around like nothing and I recall someone saying the N word quite loudly and the teacher stood there, on his phone, doing nothing.

If you are bullied here you won't receive any help either as the teachers will just watch and not help you as they don't feel like doing their job, if you report it to the pso's (patrol support office) they either will: A) not do anything, B) Talk to them and say the victims name making them more targeted, or c) offer a stupid 5 minute early pass which will not do anything, but according to them it's the most genuis gadget in the world! Yippee! 5 minutes away from the torment!

Now onto attendance Dylan thomas community school will whine and complain if your attendance isn't withing the 95%-100% you will constantly need evidence of sickness, appointments, ect, if you aren't mentally well they will complain more and they will refuse to accommodate your needs as 'It's unfair to others' what type of bull is that? According to the school tho being mentally ill isn't an excuse! And mentally ill people shouldn't be allowed to interact with society or other people because their 'Dangerous'.

I myself am not mentally well and my GP but also CAMHS themselves have tried to contact the school and help accommodate me but the school refuses to even help! I've suffered for so long with rumours, Bodyshaming, slurs thrown at me, to the point I'm used to it.

I also at the time was quite depressed and despite asking and asking the school to do something about it they just reply with 'oh we'll exclude them' but that never works! It never will! Because these bullies are never actually punished but instead praised.

The school also has a 6 month waiting list for counselling which only further proves my point that people like me also feel depressed and instead the teachers tell them to just repress their feelings so they don't have to do their jobs, for the longest time I've thought of ending my own life because this school seriously doesn't help with any mental health problems and instead cry about your low attendance, not only that the teachers don't even help you with any work and don't go through anything, classes are constantly disrupted by brain dead idiots and their not ever told off, yet if it were me or another student talking we'd be told off, this is plain favouritism to the bullies and it's unfair, not to mention their never punished for what they do, so please for the sake of most people in this school

DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE I BEG, THIS SCHOOL IS SO USELESS WITH MENTAL HEALTH AND WON'T HELP YOU WHILE YOU NEED IT MOST.

Please don't send your kids here!

I strongly urge you to not send your kid to this school, coming from first hand experience this school a horrible. There's a lot that you don't see and there is many kids suffering alone because the staff are too incompetent to do anything about it. This behaviour coming from ADULTS, FULL GROWN ADULTS is honestly shocking, they are consistently rude, narcissistic and down right creeps. They blatantly disrespect students wishes and overall wellbeing but when they get a taste of their own medicine they stomp and scream until they get their way.

Oh and they don't protect anyone's privacy and keep nothing confidential, you can tell them something and they will run straight and tell the whole staff and its just so tiring. They are bullying these children and most people don't even see it happening or even care. They will judge you for liking different things they don't, and will support other children who are judging you alongside them. But when you tell them this is happening you get the classic 'they are just jealous', 'they just fancy you' and 'just ignore them' well it isn't that easy isn't it? children are getting targeted and threatened to be jumped every second but it feels like most of the staff couldn't care less. The support for mental health is not okay, there was these incidents with multiple kids round the school where a children has opened up about eating disorders, depression, anxiety and you know what they do? They just say that all those don't exist and your just lazy.

Moving on I will like to talk about they horrid food they serve. I know a few kids who have gotten their food ROCK HARD.. I'm sorry what?! its like they are not even trying to cook the food. Every day a new thing pops up, the food can be ice cold, mushy even when its not supposed to, undercooked, overcooked u name it. They are giving children food poisoning and yet they stand there and do NOTHING!

Don't send ur kids here if you know whats best for your child, you will be the ones regretting it when they come out of that horrid school on the brink of ending it all.

Horrible

Hi, its me again. Honestly, im just here to warn you all about what happens behind closed doors, such as staff refusing to work with CAHMS for the mental health of a student.
And a certain teacher has went on a long tangent about how eating disorders and depression dont exist and are just being lazy and that people with mental health issues are dangerous and should not be allowed into society.
What the f#ck.
My parents have mental health issues and they are completely fine, but this teacher is highly against mental health and not to mention a friend of mine has an eatig disorder, she knows this and was staring at him the whole assembly.
There is active bullying going on and the teachers do nothing.
Slurs were being thrown around, you get judged for liking anime or for drawing or for writing. Everything.
I can not stand this school and have been considering s#icide because of how low my self esteem has went.
I hate being here and can not move because I'm about to move onto GCSE'S.
The scho also covers up for the bullies and give no care about the victim.
I have been threatened countless of times, and the schools solution? You can leave 5 minutes early. Pathetic.
To be frank, the staff of this school have a stick up their arse. Some are okay, but mkst of them are absolutely horrible.

Note for the people who review this before allowing it to post: please let this be posted, its an opinion

Terrible. Threats everywhere.

This school neglects your mental health. They try to bribe you to stay in school, but there is no privacy. There is one toilet room for both girls and boys, girls and boys can bring make up and spray deodorant even though there are kids with asthma. Some kids stand by when someones having an asthma attack, others threaten to jump others and there are fights every bloody day. Your mental health is going to be terrible and it's going to get worse if you ever set foot in this school. It is going to destroy you from the inside out if you come to this school you have a high chance of getting beaten by older years. There are knife threats going around, and kids get harassed be ayse they are simply disliked. Staff will threaten the bullies, but will co tinue to move the bullies to the bully victims classes. And food options, there are barely any vegetarian or vegan options for break and lunch and dinner ladies have no clue what's in the food and whether they have nuts or not

Horrible

I have personally have not had alot of issues in my time in Dylan Thomas but I have seen many people around me getting beaten just because they are disliked by other students for no reason but also I have seen many people get jumped by other students just for standing up for themselves!? I have also seen many people get items thrown at them and rumours spreading about them even if they have done no wrong and it's just due to the fact they are anti-social or Introverted and on another note the lines are absolutely atrocious as I've seen many lines go all the way back to the toilets near the school entrance with some pupils even starving due to little food left-over yet the school do nothing about this and even worse is that teachers will HEAR students talk bad about another student and see them get bullied yet do not intervene or get up off their high thrones for once and I'm appalled by this I recommend you actually FIX your horrible school environment and get to work there is more then just these issues like Homophobia, Racism, sexism and ect.

Don't send your kids here.

This school is really bad. The staff/students are completely out of line with constant racist and homophobic slurs thrown around in and out of lessons. I don't feel safe here. The pso's/support staff do absolutely nothing to help with it. If you're struggling with mental health, the school will treat you worse (constantly nag about attendance etc.) they might give you counselling but you'll have to wait like 6 months for it. The food is really bad, barely any veggie options and everything else comes with cheese. They also have dumb rules on piercings (no facial piercings because they are "too distracting") some of the teachers are very creepy. Don't send your kids here, I beg you

It’s okay

It’s a decently school don’t get me wrong, but I didn’t receive much help personally when I was struggling with work or when I was struggling really bad mentally. I was bullied in this school for years and nothing got done for it. It’s good enough if you live close by but if you want the best for yourself or your child then I suggest somewhere else. I met some of my closest friends in this school and I’ll never forget them and we made some amazing memories here too.

Good!

It’s good! The school always provides us with masks if we forget but by half of that the school is good with them :)
