Only designed to pump out good grades. Awful care of students in distress and mishandling of ‘situations’. I was sexually assaulted pre-sixth form and instead of giving me actual care i had to remain in classes with my assaulter. Other teachers reported him for unusual behaviour towards minor students. He was later put up for a good student award at prom. My sister has non-white friends who have had to drop out of the school due to harassment with a lack of consequences to perpetrators. Truly awful
Overall an okay school but very bad communication between the school and students and parents also very random school rules and punishments, you can get the same punishment for hitting somebody else as you would forgetting homework.
Alike the other review, the school meals are something to pick on, I switched to eating a packed lunch because the queue was too long, the prices of the food where irrational or just poorly prepared food.
Second, I have had some incredible teachers, some of whom go out their way to help students. And I have had some who don't, one teacher gave 5 detentions in one lesson because people where whispering.
On another hand, the headteacher is good - there is room for improvement but apart from that he is good.
First of all I’d like to talk about the school meals, the women worked behind the dinner counter smoke cigarettes outside the school area and then make and prepare your food. To add onto that they do not correctly wash the cutlery or trays for the meals to be served on, however there is a wide range of options for dinner I would not suggest the chicken wrap or chicken burger as I got one and it was pink and extremely undercooked.
Next it is clear to see most if not all teachers prioritise the smarter pupils in the school, for example in my English class the students struggling with the lesson would look out the windows and not engage and the teacher would not once try and engage them..? Learning is supposed to be fun, not a ‘drag’
Furthermore, there are certain teachers who yell at the students excessively, one student asked to keep their coat on in a maths class as it was very cold, the teacher shouted and ended up smashing his fist on the desk and isolating the student. What on earth is this behaviour.??
