Unprofessional. Head Teacher...wow..seriously needs removing for the sake of staff and students. A large proportion of assistants uneducated and have no idea of how to interact with children, they are rude bullies. Staff love "titles" everything is followed up with "assistant head" or "director"...however
Information provided by these "oh so clever titles" is half cocked, misguided, and does not provide the information it clearly states it will do.
If you have an ounce of common sense or are educated and challenge this school a door is slammed in your face.
25 + years of working in psychological therapies and I would stress the operations, training of staff and policies are seriously investigated. Do not send your children here without considering others first.
Downham Market Academy
Worst school ever, has a serious bullying problem but clearly condoned by the teachers. They only punish those who stand up for themselves. And as for the so called headmaster Mr Eastwood, whoever gave this useless tool the job of running a school, he couldn’t even run a bath. Spineless Joker!!!!
I want to say the school has come a long way since I first joined however having left and continued to observe it through the sixth form, it’s just as much of a joke as it was when I started. The mental health support/ simple consideration for students as people not numbers is dreadful. Students are punished for ‘acting up’ in the event of a panic attack or emotional dilemma and only those with ‘real’ issues are even acknowledged. I’d rather work every single day of my life for the next decade to save up to cover tuition fees to complete a teaching degree just to homeschool my children than send them anywhere near this excuse for an educational establishment. Don’t be fooled by the colourful windows which connote happiness and joy, the entire interior of the school was painted grey a year prior to these funky instalments- perhaps to signify the impending doom and declining emotional well-being any child who steps foot inside will almost definitely face. If you want to attend an ‘academy’ with no toilet doors, no respect for students and no hope for your GCSEs, DMA is the place to be.
