THE TEACHERS BEAT THE CHILDREN IN THE THE TOILETS

HORRIBLE SCHOOL

This school is absolutely horrendous in most aspects. Firstly they tell you that their school is the best in the city and is above national average (which has nothing to do with how the school operates). They also enforce students to follow some weird tradition called the DTA way which is displayed practically everywhere in the school (which is a little much if you ask me. Thirdly the substitutes can't teach; they try to make it seem like they are experienced in the profession but they don't even teach anything to you half the time. Lastly and probably worst of all, they suspend you for forgetting your equipment. They already don't let you into the school without full equipment so if you manage to escape them you will 100% be punished for forgetting it. If any parents and carers are reading this, PLEASE don't let your child go to this excuse of a school.

Don't send your child here.

First, real teachers leave after a few months and substitutes can't teach, meaning we miss out on education. Second, there is a lack of school trips provided throughout the years, other than the plain old reward trips. Third of all, the teachers are terrible at student support. When reporting sexual harassment and discomfort, a teacher responded - it was because the student liked me. Fourth, the school has changed, a lot. There are now rules put in place to brainwash students known as the "DTA way". Well, rules are quite normal, but to repeat them in every form programme whilst they're written all over the walls is unnecessary. Fifth, In terms of bullying, it's quite common - especially with racism and body shaming. Please, if you are a person of East Asian or Southeast Asian descent, do not send your child here. The same applies to those who aren't considered "normal". While I have made a few friends in this school, it is important to know that many of these so-called "friends" are fake. Sixth, the homework put in place is atrocious. For starters, all students must do Sparx maths every week - a maths homework programme with 7 tasks that you must complete to finish your homework, this homework has stressed me out throughout my school experience. There were a few moments where I would think about how much better my life would have been if I were sent to another school all those years ago. While I have experienced good throughout my years, the negatives outweigh the positives. I hope this review helps you decide if you would like for you or your child to go to this school. For parents or carers reading this, consider sending your child to a better school. If you are going to this school, I wish you all the best.

Don't come here it is not a healthy environment

Dean Trust Ardwick is a very bad school with a lot of unnecessary, inappropriate, stupid, inconvenient and annoying rules. The school doesn't even offer work experience programs for pupils. After school the head teacher stands next to the traffic light and gets in the way when pupils are trying to cross the road and prevents them from crossing because the pupils shirt is untucked. This is a form of child harassment and must be stopped. I am not surprised if the head teacher gets punched. The head teacher is a bitch who acts like he is a clever man who is in charge of Ardwick. Pupils in yr 10/11 aren't allowed to use the same exit gate as pupils in yr 789 and there is a member of staff that blocks the year 10/11 pupils from using the year 789 exit by blocking their way and not letting them pass. There shouldn't be seperate gates for 789 and 10/11 the year 789 aren't allowed to use year 10.11gate . This isn't fair on the 789 and 10/11 as the 789 gate is could be closer to the classes that some of the year 10/11 pupils is coming from or the pathway they or way to their house is more ideal to travel from the 789 gate and the year ten and 11 gate could be more ideal to some kids in 789 as that gate is probably more closer to the lessons they are coming from or the pathway to their house or place they want to go is more near to the 10 and 11 gate. It is a waste of time to get someone to enforce what gates someone exits or enters by as it's stupid. less maths homework should be given. class clowns should be in separate classes from others as they disrupt the learning of others and it isn't fair on those keen to learn and anxiety. remove tucked shirt rule,it doesn't even look bad if a student's shirt is untucked in fact it's more comfortable and covers more of the body The head teacher and staff stop you if they see you with your shirt untucked and make you tuck it in front of you, this is very stupid/inconvenient and can make us late to lessons or late to get food. Why should pupils be forced to tuck their shirt in,it's the person's choice if they want to or not,not the school's choice. remove the rule of having to get changed back into uniform after pe when pe is the last lesson of the day. Pupil should be given the option to wear pe kit instead of uniform if they want as they would rather find it more comfortable, easier to move and could even make it simpler to get to school and lessons. less maths homework should be given.

Don’t send your child here!

This school is a terrible place to send you child. The majority of the welfare team are white and don’t know how to help student’s situation and end up making life harder for them. The behaviour management team is the absolute worst and make this kids look like their crazy and just sit there in their seats and judge them.Teachers are also ableist and like to use offensive words against students and latter on say they were just “joking”.Specific members of staff likes to pick and choose what sides they go on and make the situation unfair.Unless you want your child to end up feeling suicidal don't send them to this horrible school.

This school is actually shambolic ok take it from me. Like, how can I be in set 1 for English and we have a set 4 teacher who literally begged to teach a higher class cause it'll look good on their record. NO NO NO NO NO!! And its tooooo strict, like, how can you get suspended if you don't bring in your equipment a few times. And I'm doing this anonymously so I don't get some goofy ahh cease and desist cause the school is that kinda school. Oh yea and did i mention that the food is horrible... with their wedges from Ohio (or Tesco if we're talking uk💀💀 ). Wait, did i mention that there was a WHOLE REAL LOCKDOWN

Traumatic experience

DTA was an absolutely horrible experience, I was bullied all throughout my 5 years there. I was assaulted and threatened to be killed over things that I cannot control. I reported this to my head of year who did absolutely nothing. When I struggled with my eating disorder and spoke to the school counselor at the time she told me and I quote "700 calories is fine, I do that too" I have left with unhealed scars that still make me s**cidal today. I pray that no one ever has to feel the way I felt. The schools good looking building and grades are a facade for just how badly the school manages mental health. They do not support not care for you.

School

The students are mostly POC and having a mostly white welfare team that doesn’t fully understand or relate to the experiences of immigrant youth nor understands the way their households may work can put some kids at risk. The way the classes are organised doesn’t make sense either, having kids who are expecting 8s and 9s in set 4 . Otherwise it is much better than other schools and feels much more comfortable to be in.

My experience

The school is still developing, so I didn't experience a lot of things, however I am positive it is going to get better oner the years
