Lots is spent on making the campus beautiful, but the actual teaching facilities and equipment are poor quality and badly maintained.
A lot of teaching staff try very hard, but are not highly qualified in their fields. I was even taught by somebody that had graduated from my course the year before, he wasn't even studying for a postgrad.
The university is excellent at marketing and promises the earth at open days, but once you have enrolled you realise that the support services are massively over-stretched, the courses are often over-simplified and students are only as good as their money.
Add to the mix a spate of violent muggings on campus, lecturers openly swearing at their students on social media, students wearing blackface without reprimand, and the drug addicts that hide behind Queens building to shoot up... The place just doesn't feel safe or cared for.
I took a complaint to the University ombudsmen and was awarded a partial refund of my tuition fees after the university refused to give me my degree until I'd payed several hundred pounds for a fee they had just made up.
