A School With Good Intentions Which Falls Flat On Its Face

A lot of good reviews that already go over this in more detail are there so I’m just gonna go over a bit so I think are really bad it’s probably best to have a look at them. The most class I just slideshows literally just the PowerPoint go somewhere edited it and then just turn into a class it’s like house flipper, but for teachers get the PowerPoint make it a bit better leave at that make your class print out some work that basically the classes vaping runs rampant they have to put cameras in the toilet which number one. I am never going to the toilet and that’s it. Number two It did nothing people are still vaping in the toilet. They’ve just moved to a area they legally cannot put cameras. I another point is that they just don’t seem to help you when you it feels awful they do the bare minimum they are like oh you have an issue do you work and I will acknowledge it may be I’ll write it down. get back to work and then they do nothing basically. One good thing is I was Having issues of being followed and threatened on my way home so they sent someone to watch me why I leave to make sure no one does anything to follow up a good thing with an awful thing. The only good English teacher has left the school after a year I was starting to like English in her classes, but guess that’s not gonna happen ): So in conclusion, school had a chance to get better, and then it slipped over on it’s face and got a whole lot worse and it’s sad.

Awful, never fixes anything.

This school never does anything about bullying and never fixes the site when they clearly have the money to do so. Currently there is only one toilet between the whole school and it doesn't even have a working lock.

Love it here!

I really like DC. They really care about us. Favourite subjects Maths because teachers are good and funny, English because Mrs S is a total legend, RS because it’s really interesting and teacher knows everything about everything!

do not go to this school

Awful school. One of the worst places ive been to in my life, i was badly bullied and the school did nothing about it, it then got to the point where i didn't come into school for about a month because it felt so anxious and unsafe there students would constantly leave me out, insult me, make fun of me, push me etc. teachers would also see this happen and do nothing about it. the school welfare officer also told multiple other people my confidential information without telling me i also became so anxious that i would spend break times in the toilets and the school did very little about it i also know other students who have had a similar if not worse experience here. my mental health has got considerably worse in this school the levels of racism, homophobia, sexism etc from both the teachers and students is awful and they do very little to nothing about this. not to mention we had a literal paedophile as a teacher at one point. the teaching is inconsistent and they often just slide thru a PowerPoint instead of actually teaching us

do not attend this school if you can help it

this school is the worst school i’ve attended. 2020-present. the teaching is inconsistent some teachers are engaging and inclusive, some pick on the same people/take their anger out on us. the food has got worse throughout the years they keep switching caterer’s. the bullying is on a whole other level. i’ve been bullied by the same few people for 2 terms now and they threatened to put them in isolation and only twice have they actually done it, my mental health has gone down considerably in that school and i really which i could leave. the homophobia/racism/sexism/misogyny etc from both teachers and students is incredulous. what they call “safeguarding” had ruined my relationships with family and for all they know could’ve resulted in abuse which they don’t consider, they’ll just tell parents anything.

Awful with bullying

As the title says, this school is awful with bullying. They don't do anything about it all they do is have a quick chat. No school council. Hasn't been anything for the students since last year (like non school uniform days). The head teacher couldn't be bothered all he has done is make assemblys and change the school uniform to be stricter (like shouting at you if you have the wrong socks on), the uniform is very expensive. Some of the staff are great but others just couldn't be bothered. Classrooms are constantly loud.

Awful with bullying

As the title says, this school is awful with bullying especially with LGBT people. I get called slurs, constant homophobia and transphobia and nothing has been done. We haven't had anything for the students (like non uniform days) since last year, we have no student council because the head legitimately cannot be asked. In classrooms there is constant loud talking and shouting. Some staff are brilliant at what they do but others are very lazy teachers. The art, English, history, music and maths teachers are great but most of the others just can't be bothered. The head is useless all he does is make assemblys. Not many GCSE options.

it's nicknamed "the hellhole" for a reason

i'm a member of the lgbtq+ community and i have experienced homophobic and transphobic verbal + physical abuse at this school. I reported every single one of these incidents (more than 10) and around two of them were 'dealt with' meaning that they just told the person not to do it again, they were given no sanctions. Being at this school has caused my mental health to decline so much but i'm leaving in two months, hopefully it gets burnt down by year 7s doing food tech 🙏🙏

please do not send your children here if you value their quality of life even a little bit.

Absolutely... amazing

Drugs, Teachers having affairs, previous students beating up old students, 100% recommended.

Plus old students can just walk straight in.

Haha drugs go brr

Drug problem in surrounding area. Teachers mostly average with a couple excellent and a couple hated. Depending on if the stars align correctly you may get information from the school. The head teacher left after allegedly having an affair with another member of staff but the new head teacher is much more competent and the school is getting better.

Really Bad (2014-2017)

I attended from 2014-2017. Moved schools to do GCSEs and incredibly glad I left. When I attended it had a horrible bullying problem and virtually no policies to combat that. When this was brought to his attention, the head at the time said that he “could not agree” that there was bullying when confronted by a victim of it. Some people seem to get on okay there. I was not one of those people. It was an environment in which I developed two anxiety disorders and suffered from depression, for multiple reasons, one of which was attending this school. Because I achieved good grades I went under the radar when it came to access arrangements and never received any form of support for what we now know was undiagnosed ASD. My need for extra time and other support was picked up within months of being at my other school. There were some EXCELLENT teachers here who made me feel understood and supported but they did so in their own time without any higher bodies involvement, which also allowed for some spectacularly disinterested and apathetic teachers. Most teachers were average, with some wonderful and some very poor. Student body also weren’t accepting of LGBTQ+ students or students of colour. Was on the receiving end of a lot of homophobic behaviour and witness to a fair amount of racism, though there weren’t many students of colour at all which I think speaks for itself. Also there were a few fights, people smoking at the end of the field within view of the teachers, and the toilets frequently smelt of cannabis. The food was excellent at least. If they haven’t changed caterers, I’d recommend the chicken nuggets. Granted, I made some of my closest friends and certainly developed a thick skin, but if you don’t fit the mould even by the slightest amount and if this is school is how it used to be- do not go here.

hellish garbage fire of a school

One of the worst places I have been in my life, It’s a status of bullied or be bullied and the facility is horrific at looking after it’s students, my mental health got so bad due to other students and the school did nothing I almost committed suicide and had to drop out due to actions of other students and I know I’m not the only student I know who went though this, don’t go to this school
