This school has no mental health training and refuses to modernise.
So so Bad
When i was a student at this school, i have never felt welcomed into the school community.
You can throughly tell all the teachers put on an act when OFSTED/Inspections are here. OFSTED rated this school “Good”, yet the school isn’t bothered about your mental health, and never is bothered when you need help the most.
It’s all about the good students in this school. They’re always the ones able to go on special trips or going out the lessons able to talk to people out the school. But whenever a student acts ‘different’ it’s a whole new story. You get warnings after warnings, then leads to detentions, then also will lead to internals. Even if your kid has a non visible disability, the school wouldn’t even give two.
It’s always about the good reviews, so many parents have complained and will continue to complain because of the schools new rules. The new head teacher, Paul, thinks he is a King. I have known so many people go home hating that school and their parents ending up pulling their kids out because of him. He is useless and no one is seeing it.
You’re suppose to go to school and have a good time and learn… not spend your lunch and break times in detention or a full day in internal away from everyone. It’s turning into a prison. Sooner or later the students will be cleaning the teachers shoes at this rate, it’s ridiculous.
Save your time and look into a better school and talk to friends/ family for what’s better. Trust me this isn’t the school you want.

So as a student that goes here, the school is shockingly bad. Some of the reasons for saying this are that Mrs D and Mr G are always making up new rules and are suspending children for something as stupid as filling up a balloon with water (which happened to someone that IK!!) Also they don't care abt your mental health as when a student is skipping lesson for their mental health the teacher thats finds you says" Go to Internal" or "You know better than this" even if your visibly upset. I could go on and on about how badly this school is run.

Why D.A Is A Genuinely Bad School
Im speaking from experience when i say: this school does NOT care for your childs mental health.
For starters, they prioritize a students learning over their mental health, which NO school should do, obviously right, but this school takes it to a WHOLE different level.
When a student is skyving lessons, because of something going on in their personal life, or anything like that right, if youre caught skipping lessons, REGARDLESS whether or not youre visibly upset, the teachers wont leave you alone, telling you to go to lesson, when what they REALLY should be prioritizing in that situation is making sure that student is ok mentally.
For example right, if i was a teacher, and i saw a student who was visibly upset skipping lessons, i would put lessons and school work aside, and make sure that student is ok, and try get that student someone to talk to so they can maybe get some help, in my opinion, ALL teachers should do that, and it seriously baffles me and angers me that teachers don't think like that.
Another thing id like to mention, is how MESSED UP the teachers treat some of the students, like JESUS CHRIST its bad.
For example, the rule at my school was this: if you dont do a pice of homework, you get a lunchtime detention, if you dont go to that, you get another one, and if you dont go to the second one you get put into an after school detention (something id like to bring up again in a bit) which is all fine and dandy right, i dont agree with homework, but that detention system makes sense, its very straight forward to understand... HOWEVER, what teachers would do, and this happened to me CONSTANTLY, was they would twist up the rules, just you mess you over.
Like genuinely, they would STRAIGHT UP LIE about me having a lunchtime detention, just to put me into an after school... so what they would do was they would give me a COMPLETELY UNDESERVED, UNNECESSARY lunchtime detention, and because it was a lunchtime detention that i never knew existed, i wouldnt go to it, because i had no knowledge that i had one, so because of that, because i didnt go, they put me straight into an after school... again, this has happened to me personally.
And by the way, for anyone who didnt know right, a school CANNOT LEGALLY keep a student behind after school for a detention, WHITHOUT parents consent. BY LAW.
