Had an absolutely appalling experience
My son was relentlessly bullied and ignored by the teachers because he was studious and quiet. The school were clearly only interested in the pupils with behavioural issues
It was never our intention to home educate and something I was firmly against but was left with no option due to the fact my son was in a chaotic environment and was unable to learn effectively
Since he has been tutored privately he is thriving and has written a book. He will be taking some of his GCSE exams next year despite only just turning 12
It's a shame thst the school failed to see his potential and were more interested in the ones that should have been forced to leave ( in my opinion) not my son , who Is bright , caring towards others and loved school. I'm.very angry because socially he has missed out but I'm pleased academically he's excelling now he's got some good teachers to work with who can see his potential
An extremely disappointing experience and I would never recommend that school
An utter disgrace
This was the worst school I've ever been to in my life. It's ok if you're popular or have parents who are friends with teachers, but if you're a 'nobody' in-class, then the teachers will treat you as much as well. Me and many others, where bullied throughout our entire time at danesfield and the teachers would literally sweep it under the rug and tell us not to be such targets while the bullies had no consequences and where even rewarded. I tried to kms during my time here and the bullying led to some PTSD, depression, anxiety and an eating disorder. It was constant, and when I got home, I was cyberbullied to so it never stopped. My mum went to the school so many times to complain but they tried turning the situation round on her saying she was the reason I was the way I was. The actual lessons where alright, if you got a good teacher (there was a quite a few ngl) but some of them just wanted to be "pally" with the popular kids so would make a joke out of the unpopular kids. I also had a couple of teachers calling me stupid and countless cover teachers who had no idea what was happening and would just let the class run riot.
