A wonderful school which has a great sense of community, is in a beautiful setting with excellent outdoor facilities, fantastic teachers and most importantly our son loves it.
There have been a number of changes over the last year which all appear to have been for the better, with a new outdoor learning and forest school area being built and an online system which is regularly updated with photos and stories on children’s activities in addition to the weekly newsletter.
The teachers are fantastic and I have really noticed how much they all seem to enjoy the school and the children (not sure why a previous reviewer couldn’t speak to the headmistress as she is stood at the gates almost every morning!). The teachers should be commended at the effort they put in to make the school so welcoming for our children and the extra time they put in for breakfast club, various after school clubs and holiday clubs (all very much appreciated by parents!).
There is a real sense of family at CH and we are enjoying getting to know lots of other parents through the events being held, the numerous assemblies & performances put on by the children and family days in the wonderful garden.
There is nowhere else we rather send our son for his primary education that we feel would balance his learning, sense of enjoyment, family community and location in a beautiful setting surrounded by trees as well as Crown House does.
Poorly run school, we were looking forward to sending our child here. However, since they were bought out by the new Chatsworth group, the whole school. From the lady whom greets you at the gates each morning with a scowl, right through to the head teacher barring a few teachers. Seems poorly run, disjointed, hardwork to even speak to anyone. You can forget speaking to the headteacher, as she is too precious, and always busy.
Too many incidents to count, across all year groups which has led to a mass exodus. The reputation has been shot to bits, they promised an portal which finally came and is so poor. You have no clue as to how your child is progressing.
