I wanted to share this in the hope that it’ll save another parent the heartbreak I’ve gone through over the past year with bullying at Cox green highschool. My son was a victim of severe bullying throughout his time at the school (around one year) he also is diagnosed with ADHD. Two particular kids have repeatedly assaulted him by punching him in the face, throwing his school bag and blazer in the bin multiple times, spat at him, had his clothes grabbed and ripped, been pushed against walls, called horrific names, had malicious Instagram groups started about him, had posters put up around the school in order to start awful rumours about him and is still being targeted by those children despite me removing him from the school and homeschooling him until his GCSES. The police are now involved but the point I want to make is that the school have done nothing to protect my son or to de escalate the situation, the bullying was so severe that it was affecting my sons mental health. This is why children commit suicide due to bullying. Don’t send your child to cox green, you will receive no support in the event of your child being bullied and you won’t receive support for children with ADHD or special needs. Just to add on to this they haven’t had a full ofsted inspection since 2018 which also looks into how they deal with bullies and it shows.
at cox green, you find vapes, drugs, condoms in the toilets and the staff don’t clean it up.You have mixed toilets so sometimes you find cum up the walls and it will stay there until a STUDENT CLEANS IT AS THE TEACHERS DONT! i joined this school last year and i hate it.Teachers yell at you for helping others and if you stand up for yourself you get 30-60 detentions!! The headteacher doesn’t do anything or the head off year
Awful school, if you have SEN needs they have no idea how to support you and teachers make you worse, mock you, scream at you and generally don't respect you. No idea how to support mental health, demoralising and discriminating.
If you child has any form of mental health then avoid this school at all costs, children with dyslexia, add and adhd etc are treated as naughty rather than supported. School has said they are a educational institution and it is not their place to support children's mental health.
As someone who walks past daily to get to another school, this school is awful just based of students. I get harrased often by students as young as year 7 and many are careless on the road. They run around on the road pushing their 'mates' around. I also never see a single teacher outside the school making sure all the students are safe or sensible!
I am a disabled student, I spent 5 years at cgs as I needed a stable school for my EHCP application, during my time i was mistreated physically and mentally. Bullied but not by students… teachers. Apart from a few lovely teachers who went above and beyond my experience was torture. Since my GCSE’s and a transfer of schools i am so glad i made it out of cgs. I am finally starting to heal
Worst time, best part was pissing around with mates other then that shit. Couple teachers alright otherwise would rather force myself to listen to classical music for 48 hours then attended another year.
I left after 1 year. Students are always causing drama. The academic side of the school is awful. Teachers tend to ignore the fact that some students my be struggling and my experience was students would tell teachers something and then the teacher would treat that student differently and in a rude and non professional way!
it’s good, academic wise. however i’ve not had the best experiences with the students. there’s always drama and there’s always something bad. the teachers actually tend to stress you out a lot aswell. the safe guarding is however good
