I joined as I thought it would be a good place, the school offered not a lot of support for those who are neurodivergent or have mental health. I ended getting home schooled because they could not help with my problems all because I wasn’t diagnosed . Honestly the school is okay for those who have no mental problems and is not good for those who are on the spectrum but other than that it’s not at all good .
i do not recommend they make your life a living hell, they make u lick the floors if u speak on the corridor and the food is also moldy and have maggots in the chicken stake, also do not have any VEGAN food which is not okay because the vegan community will NOT stand for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A truly awful place to work. Several staff have signed non disclosure agreements after their dismissal in exchange for several months of full pay. The new headmaster and a select few assistant principles are nothing short of bullies with staff and students alike. How OFSTED didn't look into the massive turnover of staff and query it is beyond me. Children with SEN are truly let down and there is nothing you can do about it as the senior team won't allow interventions.
The new headmaster is pig ignorant. There is no consideration for children with extra needs, whatsoever. Tells parents what they want to hear then does the complete opposite. My child is miserable there. If you are able then you won't have a problem !
they claim to always want the children to feel safe yet when a child asks to go a place they feel safe they refuse and send them to where they feel unsafe. Many teachers are blind to how the kids feel and only care about their reputation as a school.
Toilets have fruit fly infestations all the time and reek of vape. The lessons make you develop depression, it also spreads from the miserable teachers. Some of the teachers have no filter, and I swear they all shag each other ew.
Consett Academy is honestly an amazing school. It should get far more credit than what they do. I wish all schools were like this school. The SEN support is by far the most fantastic thing ever. Would recommend for your kids definitely.
Very noticeable deterioration in the last year, with mass amounts of the best staff leaving. So many students that we sometimes didn’t have a classroom for our lessons as there simply isn’t space, A Levels apparently not being important enough to secure a classroom for. Strong sense of bullying throughout both the staff and student bodies. Not a pleasant place to study nor work. A few very good members of staff, full praise to them for putting up with what they go through. Seems to be getting worse, wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Go to this school if you want to suffer for 5 (or more) years.
Worst experience of my life.
Want to die because of this school.
Not only are the kids severely lacking any empathy but so does the teachers!
I've complained multiple times to teachers (told four different ''we're here to help'' teachers in one go) And they did nothing.
Completely nothing.
Oh and have you heard there's fights in here? What did the teachers do? nothing. Not even batter an eye lid. Not even looking at you.
You can punch random kids out of no where and their'll be a significantly higher chance that nothings going to be done about it
This school is one of the worst schools you can ever let your child to go to. 100% would recommend going somewhere else. 100%
I used to go to a school which was absolutely rubbish. This school is honestly amazing. The SEN support is incredible, and there is 3 teachers which I will not mention their names due to privacy that should so get promoted. This school I would defo recommend to your child if they have SEN and if they don't then I would still recommend it due to it being the best school ever!
An overall deteriorating school due to a rapid change in staff. Little consideration for students’ views and mental well-being when making decisions. Few amazing teachers that overall can make up for those less good. Most staff members are friendly, making the school experience a little better. Not the worst school, but far from the best!
worst school eva, went there for 5 years and teachers pick favourites, got pua bullied there and chased home loads, and i got the blame for it, wouldnt bother going there to be honest
