School is horrible keep kids out side and refused them getting on the bus horrible school.made kids stay outside in the rain and we’re smiling with umbrellas.Rules are unfair. Says teachers are more important than kids apparently. Child was sent out of class for drinking water ridiculous school.gives child detention for being pushed out line.banned from not using the toilets during class rarely clean them any way. Food is atrocious fous eggshells in muffin.Let older years on the bus but not the year 7s. Parking student for no reason. Lack of teachers showing up. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE IT IS HELL.
It’s so strange reading these reviews. I was a pupil at Coloma back in the 1980s and it sounds like nothing has changed. Back then bullying from teachers and fellow pupils was rife and left unchecked. Personal problems were not to be discussed and so you could have a breakdown and nobody would even notice. No adequate classroom buildings or text books- just made to write dictated notes. Really poor teaching standards. I was written off academically aged 11 and told I was stupid. Turns out I was academically gifted and went on to get an MA and PhD. I’m now a top academic author and researcher. So don’t worry if you’ve had a bad experience there. They put my learning back at least a decade. Their policy on confiscating mobiles today is just another educational failure to acknowledge how students learn in the 21st century. Certainly not going to produce STEM leaders or the coders of the future. Find a progressive school to prepare girls for the real world (my PhD is in education so I know what I’m talking about).
Coloma is so Horrible. I am currently being horrified by the continuous abuse, fighting and social media harassment that has been going on. If the the school can not control the children then I am taking my daughter out
Ok. Kids suck. Staff sucks some don’t. Red head(if u know u know) is a sub she is racist and swears. A girl came to school with a KNIFE. I FOUND RAZORS IN THE BATHROOM. which looks like hell. They will search your child if they don’t hand in their phone. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!
it is not a safe school. girls are coming to school with knives in their backpacks. the last accident at the school premises was swept under the carpet on the day it happened. my daughter was in shock, and stressed and when I called the school the minute I read the message about what happened I was advised that my daughter is completely fine and is nothing to worry about.
oh! well. she wasn't at all. from the moment the accident took place she was constantly crying and wanted to go home the moment when she realised the parents of the other girls who witnessed the accident, coming and picking up their distressed daughters.
I was reassured by the receptionist that everything is well with my daughter and she is perfectly fine. I regret with all my heart I chose this school for my daughter
To all parents who's kids go or will attend this school.
STAY AWAY FROM THAT SCHOOL!
HIGH NUMBER OF SELFHARMING DEPRESSION THAT IS NOT DEALTH WITH!!!
RECENTLY GIRL CUT HER STOMACH FRONT OF OTHER KIDS SHOUTING "I NEED LOVE" AND WHOLE INCIDENT WAS SWEPT UNDER CARPET
THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT HELP KIDS WITH THIER PERSONAL PROBLEMS! MASSIVE PRESSURE FROM TEACHERS AS WELL AS OTHER STUDENTS CAUSING MORE AND MORE SELFHARM INCIDENTS.
THIS SCHOOL SHOULD BE REVIEVED BY INDEPENDENT PANEL! ITS A JOKE WHATS GOING ON THERE.
This school has had 3 different headteachers throughout my school life and the standards decrease every time. Many of the teachers are kind and supportive, willing to do anything to help yet the management is quite poor. There is a HUGE lack of communication between all staff and students and hasn’t been improved as they use multiple platforms all at once (Teachers2parents, EduLink One and e-mail). That is very unnecessary.
Also, I don’t even know how people learn through the classrooms they put you in. It is disgusting. I’m surprised there has been little action taking place.
I put my daughter into Coloma with high hopes. But sadly, she has turned out to be someone with bruised confidence and low self-esteem. During her first two years, she didn't say much about the school but later we realised that the students were segregated. It is not done obviously but in a stealthy manner. Some classes are predominantly blacks and those from other ethnic minority background.
I feel that students from different ethnic backgrounds must be allowed to mingle and interact freely.
Besides, my daughter told me that some students take drugs in the school and get into physical fight. I'm taking my daughter out of the school this year.
The school only cares about its outward image, and it's all external 'cosmetics' to present a fake image that it is a great school. The teaching isn't great and the pastoral care is largely indifferent to the needs of the students.
