colchester academy is not a good place

i am currently year 11 at colchester academy and my past 4.5 years their have been horrible. year 7 i got suspended for 3 days after hitting a male student who tried to put his hand up my skirt and he got a half day isolation. they permanently suspended the student after a year of him doing this to other girls in the school. my most recent interaction with a assistant principle who i will refer to as dmh told me to stop going non-verbal and tell him my problems. i have adhd and autism and i was in a mental breakdown at the time. one of my cousins have epilepsy and there was a flickering light in his classroom he told dmh about this and dmh said he had to go to his lesson. my friend ended up going into absent seizure and was refused to go home. over all the sendco is alright but all decisions go through dmh and he has recently removed half the passes for everyone. i have a weak bladder and he removed my toilet pass i went to him to ask for it back and he said 'when you start going to your lessons i will put your pass back on' i reminded him about my bladder issues and he dismissed it. i dont know why he hasn't been fired yet he is a horrible teacher who needs to get off his high horse and actually follow send students one plans.

i went to this school from 2019-2023 and never had a pleasure experience i had dealt with a sexual assault in 2022 and at first it was being looked into but when the students parent informed the school that until it was all swept under the carpet he would not be attending school so i was told his attendance and learning is more important so it was left there and turned into teacher gossip once starting gcse classes he was put into numerous ones and i had complained and i was promised to be moved but it never happened so i missed out on months of lessons and all they did was exclude me all the time instead of listening to me leaving this school in 2023 was the best thing i did they do nothing for bullying and told my partner it’s better off if he left rather than stay because there is “nothing they can do to help him” probably the worst school in colchester whole experience was either bullying, being called a liar by teachers or being told by teachers i have mental issues that need to be checked out there was also a case on my last day where i tried to get into my classroom where student support was and my friend was let in but when it came to me the “assistant head” pushed his arm against my breasts so i pushed him and i was excluded for assaulting a teacher please don’t send your children here it gets worse by the year

WORST school in Colchester.

This school does not give a care in the world about you, it has had so many sexual assault cases and they do nothing about it I had proof of what happened to me and they kept the 2 students in school anyway, I also had my nose broken in late 2021 on schools grounds and they thought it was helping when they asked if I wanted a wet paper towel, and instead of calling the police, ambulance ect they said they needed permission from my parents to get me “help” the boy that did it had also sexually assaulted me in the past and only 2 years later he had broke my nose and they refused to kick him out and kept him in and in all my lessons, they do help with bullying what’s so ever I am a male and got sexually assaulted by 2 other “straight” males and instead of being caring the teacher proceeded to ask me if I was “gay” because of what happened to which is absolutely disgusting, every student in that horrid school takes drugs, parents what ever you do, DO NOT send your child to this disgusting school, there as so many cases sexual assault but the teachers refuse to do anything without “proof” but even if you do have proof they still refuse to help it is mentally, and physically draining and this school should be shut down, they do not give a care in the world about you all they care about is attendance and uniform, and when you take months off because you can’t handle the abuse that’s the only time they care but they don’t care why you took months they only care that you didn’t come in and would threaten to give your parents a fine for their lack of responserbility, help and reassurance towards helping encourage the students back into school after there terrible and poor response to issues that were happing under their care and as a teacher they are responsible for anything that happens in the school but yet refused to give help to students in need and absolutely oblivious to what was going on around them to there students.
Their lack of help discourages students to re attend school after they’re horrific experiences with students aswell as teachers in the school.just what ever you DO NOT send your child to Colchester academy, it is the WORST school in the whole Colchester and needs to be closed down ASAP.

school needs to be sued

i don’t even know where to start. i went to the school and as of right now i should be a year 11 student however i had to drop out due to the school’s ignorance and disgusting approach towards bullying, homophobia and sexual assault. whilst at that school i was bullied from year 8-11 and received no help what so ever. i was sexually assaulted on two occasions to which when i brought it up to my head of year she said “boys will be boys”. i also didn’t go to school for a year because it all got so bad and they refused to move my lessons away from the bullying and allowed it to continue. even after i informed them on my sexual assault they then put the boy into my gcse class in year 11 when they claimed they couldn’t move any of mine but moved his INTO A LESSON WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS REPORTED HIM FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT NUMEROUS TIMES. the school failed me and so many other students and they just need to be shut down. they don’t keep their students safe. most people who attend that school are the most nastiest people you will ever meet. their teachers gossip amongst each other about numerous different things like nobody else can hear. i used to go into the sen room ( 2.17) as they thought letting me go in there would “help” me however when i went in there i was always made uncomfortable due to how judgmental and insensitive the staff in there was. i’d be sitting there doing my work and i would hear the staff speaking about private information about students and leaving nasty comments about the student’s disabilities or issues and then laughing about it. i could go on about so many different occasions where the school has failed me but this would be endless. they act as if they’re unaware of these things to parents when they’re very much aware just too lazy to sort it out. almost every single boy who goes to that school is homophobic, sexist, racist or a sex offender. the teachers aren’t much better since we all know they like to recruit nonces 🥲

Terrible, need to get to grips with the bullying

The school is full of bullies and there is zero discipline. Kids are fighting or doing wheelies in the middle of the road outside in the mornings. My child says that if children shout and swear during lessons, they are not removed from class, meaning the ones that want to work are constantly affected with the disruption. There is a points system and if the naughtiest kids sit still for a few minutes they are awarded points whilst the quiet ones get nothing. They have a bullying policy which is not adhered to. The few good kids aren't nurtured. I cannot fathom how Ofsted rated this school 'good' with what I've seen. Plus the playground is strewn with rubbish, which attracts seagulls that frequently poo on students. Needs enormous improvement.

Typical Greenstead

This school sucks, only some of the teachers acted like they cared and then they left. The windows were always broken and so many of the kids did drugs

Not Great For Students

The staff are amazing wanting to help the students as much as they can. It stops there. The management and trust staff do not care about the staff helping students and make staff’s life a living hell.

Colchester Academy is honestly the worst school to put your child into. So many cases of sexual assault and harassment in the 5 years I was there for, all the these accusations were shrugged off as "there was no evidence" even thought there's cameras to prove what had happened. Teachers were racist, homophobic and even encouraged bullying at most times.

sexual assault & staff ignorance

the school is so disgusting and vile, i have been experiencing sexual assault, cat calling, bullying, transphobia from many pupils at the school, she staff do not care about it and shrug it off proceeding to make me and many other students have to stay in the same classes as our sexual abusers and saying “if you have no proof we can’t do anything” when you literally have proof they still shrug it off and it’s making me so livid. hearing from all the females and or trans people throughout the whole of my school our experiences all have problems with the MALE students and or teachers. the teachers say that “boys will be boys” and normalise what they do to us trans people and females and the school makes me so so sick in general i can’t explain how bad it is there the way they deal and manage racism, sexual assault, harassment, cat calling, bullying, transphobia and homophobia is so bad they don’t even deal with it they say they’re going to do something about it to your parents yet they proceed to do nothing and when you confront them they say “ YOU NEED MORE PROOF” HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET ANY PROOF ANY OF THIS IS HAPPENING WHEN IM NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE MY PHONE OUT?! like i am getting stalked, bullied, experiencing transphobia and homophobia from my sexual assaulter and all their friends from the start now and i’m now coming to the end of my school life and teachers have heard and saw this happening throughout the years but of course because they favourite all the students that are the genuine problem they get away with mentally destroying people and complain about students not coming to school for months when they do nothing. the school aggravates me and i do not wish for anyone to have to go to this school, if any parents are reading this the school is so bad and disgusting they only care about grades, attendance, uniform and more stupid little rules that shouldn’t exist. they act like they care about the their student’s mental stability and well-being when they DONT GIVE A CARE IN THE WORLD, the whole school has caused me so much trauma and mental issues that i will never recover from. there is so much more i can say but this is enough to get how bad the sexual assault and the school in general is.

Sexual assault

Colchester Academy are trying to put a limit on girls skirts as boys at the school are starting to fell “uncomfortable” around the girls the suggestion was made by a male member of staff at Colchester Academy and this topic was discussed at a school council meeting which young children are involved having different opinions on the subject. Many girls at the school have had many disrespectful and disgusting comments made about them either online or at the school the comments made are sexualised and the excuse was “there just being boys” an assembly was made by one of the head of years in year 9 which students are aged 12-13 a discussion of Rape was brought up and scared a lot of students giving them no warning.
I’m early 2021 a warning was put out telling all staff that skirts on the girls were way to short and should be fixed as soon as possible later on in the morning the form tutors were asked by the head of years to do an assembly about how we should start understanding how people feel when wearing something too “revealing” a year 8 form tutor took that into there hands and told the group of children that girls should start respecting themselves and wear a longer skirt to make boys feel more comfortable walking up the stairs later on in that week the form tutor was called upon this and lied and said the children had lied and said nothing of the sort this school is absolutely disgusting coming from a student themselves
