I always find it interesting to read reviews about a school.
There are always reasons why people feel the need to write a review and hopefully sensible people will come and visit a school, to get a feel for the school, is it right for their child.
Parents need to support a school and ensure their children take responsibility for their behaviour whilst they are at school.
There are hundreds of children who are happy and do very well at CHS.
i moved to chs beginging of year 8 and left end of year9. this school done nothing but promise me the world and give me nothing and watch my mental health get worse. i told the school i was feeling suicidle and they then said “im too busy to deal with this”. instead of listening to your story they just have ago at you and will not believe anything you say. the students are just as bad , my whole time at chs i was bullied by a big group of girls and whenever id defend myself i would be the one in the ‘wrong’ some of the teachers where amazing and would listen but only a few of them. if your child has mental health problems i do NOT recommend sending them to this school because they will bring your children down even more
this school is so bad honestly they get male members of staff to sit outside the girls toilets and wait for you to come out and monitor how long your in there for, if you wear a pencil skirt the teachers say “you obviously wearing it because you want attention or you want something and boys to look at you” and if girls wear leggings its deemed as “sexual” as most girls have developed bums and male teachers cant control themselfs
Staff at CHS are always there for you.
There is a wide network of support across the school for students.
Your Tutor
Head of Year
Pastoral Managers
Wellbeing Manager
Designated Safeguarding Lead and staff
If you are having an issue, you just go to one of them and they will help you.
This school is an OfSTED rated GOOD school with plenty of teachers there who will listen and support you if you have a problem.
There is an excellent DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) system, each Year group have a Lead and Pastoral Manager to support along with dedicated Tutors.
If any issues are shared, they are dealt with quickly and supportively.
They cannot help you is you don’t share that you are having an issue.
Absolutely terrible school both me and my brother get bullied during pe my brothers £70 shoes have been flushed down the toilet hes had a used toilet plunger put in his bag his bag taken and put in the bin amd the school have done nothing about it i myself get bullied everyday and nothings done DO NOT send your child here it will wreck them
I am bullied and harassed constantly at this poor excuse for a school. You learn almost nothing, the teachers are oblivious to what they are meant to be teaching and the students are sad excuses for human beings. Oh and don't even get me started on the canteen
The handling of bullying is poor especially when teachers step in, whenever a fight happens the teacher take at least 20 minutes to actually see that a fight is happening. Some of the teachers are scared for the Year 10s.
Chichester High School is an OfSTED rated GOOD school.
With a cohort of over 1300 students, the majority are happy with their time here.
One thing that must be said, if you are unhappy with something, you just need to contact the school directly and they will support you.
The Headteacher is very open, supportive and most importantly, fair.
Chs is alright for the most part, it has it’s bad days but which school doesn’t? However the on call people aren’t especially good at reacting to calls from teachers
They have blocked the corridor so your not allowed there are breaks, not allowed on the field either and boy and girl toilets are being locked or guarded by staff and there is no where to fill water bottles up
The staff were oblivious to bullying within the school, which lead me to move to a different school. The teaching is good, but the behaviour staff are not.
