Cheslyn Hay Academy

I used to go to this school until leaving, I would never recommend this school. I once had an extremely bad headache so I went to student services for them to call my parent to bring something in as we weren’t allowed to go home.. like ever. And the person said that they had called them. I kept coming back each time I could and they said they called my parent and nothin. End of the day I spoke with my parent. They didn’t have a phone call. That isn’t the only thing terrible. The lessons are also horrid. No work gets done and pupils act silly the entire lessons and teachers don’t do anything about it often. There is also an alarming number of teachers leaving and lessons being covered by substitutes which also means everyone is silly all lesson 😒 I would also like to add on to how they deal with bullying. They don’t. You get called into a meeting DURING break time and you talk and they do nothing about it after that. If you kept coming back they would tell you to get on with it and that your over exaggerating.
I would also like to add the weekly assemblies. A bunch of sh*t. ( sorry language ) every week they would go on and on about the same thing. ASPIRE. ‘ oh you need to unlock your academic potential ‘ OH YEAH I would be able to do that if you didn’t put me in the bottom set when I scored higher then top set in maths. That is my next point. They put us in sets based on test scores. I did fairly well in my last test but I was still put in the lowest set. I thought everyone has scored higher so I wasn’t mad. Next big end of year test I scored higher then most people in top set. I know this because all my friend group was top set and I had scored higher. I was still kept in bottom set which meant I couldn’t even attempt the higher paper. How am I meant to succeed in school when THEY hold me back.
The bathrooms are also extremely dirty and the queues to the lines were awful to get food! Everyone would push and shove. I had so many injuries from this, when you eventually got the food it was cold like- breakfast is quite good but it was the lunch that was bad.
As I left Cheslyn hay they kept saying they sent my document to my new school when they didn’t 😒😭
So the message to take from this is to not send your child to this academy. This academy only lies to everyone and holds you back in education they will probably also be scarred for life via the bullying 😁
