im a student in year nine at this school so havent had any years where i wasnt affected by the pandemic. this will mean my view of the school will be different from those in older years obviously. in general its an okay school, nothing completely horrific or outstanding, but like with anything, there are many areas for improvement. i personally think that the school should be more supportive of lgbtq+ identities as there are a few members of staff who have been unpleasant about such things. last year during pride month there was a pride flag put up on the flag pole in support, but it really wasnt there for very long, a day max. this has nothing to do with the school not be able to have flags up for long, as when prince philip died, the british flag was flown for a while. as someone who struggles with mental health issues, the help provided is really not great. they dont seem to care about how the work load given to us is too much and that its very difficult to keep up with, and this is coming from someone who hasnt even started gcses yet. there is a rule about not setting overnight homework but that really means nothing at this point when you have a piece due in every day of the week and not enough time to do your homework and look after your failing mental health. there are also some pervy teachers but its whatever, people are pretty numb to it now
