It’s a terrible school never send your kids there there food is terrible I’ve heard from one of the teachers in the office they get a lot of kids coming in and complaining that the food is made then sick ect some of the teachers can’t teach and just let you mess about screaming and shouting during classes - to many fights and arguments that they never actually deal with only give them blue hut and expect the whole world to change teachers are always so moody for no reason
I moved my daughter to Cheam in year 10 from another borough school.
I can not express what a difference this school has made, she has gone from being down and shy, to back to her normal self. Her grade predictions have gone from non passes, to good level passes. The teachers have gone above and beyond to help, and have been in regular contact.
I wish i had moved her years ago.
Nothing is ever a problem, and communication is great.
Also teachers are there every day outside the school and at the main bus stops monitoring behaviour!
I would not recommend this school to anyone. Please save yourself drama and hassle. The school has been very unhelpful in sorting out bullying problems that started from day one as a little year 7. The school is overcrowded and overrated. Make sure your little pumpkin is strong if they don’t have anyone in higher years to look out for them. The school doesn’t care if your child is being bullied they just enter you in ridiculous programs on how not to react and how to put up with bullying. If I could put a zero star I would.
I left Cheam in 2020,and would definitely not recommend going there. The students form a strong atmosphere of judgement and cliques and are in general disrespectful and bullies. The staff don't do enough to stop bullying or to help the victims. Large volumes of homework are set which only add unnecessary pressure to the students. The staff pick favourites (usually the bullies and misbehaved students) so nothing really gets done about it. As someone who was in the MAGT program, I was offered many opportunities which I am grateful for, however socially, I found that my peers didn't like this system as they thought it was unfair - which I agree with. Students were not allowed to remain in the buildings before school or during break and lunch - even in the hail and pouring rain. I found there was a constant lack of trust and respect towards students and perhaps some of this was reciprocated back to the teachers.
i’m a year 8 here, i really don’t like it here. the students are mostly homophobic and racist. the teachers don’t care, but when other people do any single thing out of line, we get told off. i got falsely accused of something and i got send to the head of year. also the school doesn’t really care for your well-being or your home life, even if you’re struggling. the teachers are very strict and don’t inspire you or encourage you to work at all and the work is too much pressure on me personally. i’m supposed to be “gifted” since i’m in top set but i’m really struggling here. the school isn’t helping me at all, just overflowing me with work.
