You'd be doing nothing in a room full of people pissing about and get told to move and when you ask why they'll go mental at you and treat you worse than the people who are actually causing the problems. It's not even worth trying to sort anything out afterwards because they will always lean towards defending the teacher and accept no faults. Half the tiny school is locked off at breaktimes so you can't even wander about unless you like being in a crowd, teachers give punishments that big things deserve for small things such as wearing a coat or talking. GOD FORBID the teacher doesn't like you or you will be targeted and picked on every single lesson, I witness it on a daily. The new rules rarely make any sense and seem more like they're trying to copy other schools to exceed or get their standard instead of focusing on what could be inputted to make kids enjoy school. The kids who are bad behaved and don't care about their work and disrupt lessons get more attention than the average student in lessons who actually care about getting things done. The school is excruciatingly plain and dull in comparison to the other schools in the area. There are many depressed or troubled because of what happens within the premises and out. If you are accused, you instantly get action taken even if there's no proof. some of the teachers are extremely kind and then there's the others that are completely bias towards who they're teaching. Honestly, best thing I can think of about it is the students and their strong friendships with each other.
You’re only allowed to take off blazers inside classrooms during summer, but not outside or in the canteen? This is a really really stupid and unnecessary rule. The new-ish principal about a couple month ago passed a rule for that girls cannot wear bows on their socks?? Let the children have some sparkle in a depressing enough school life. Boys aren’t allowed to wear shorts during summer but girls are allowed to wear skirts. Of course boys are allowed them too but that’s feminine and would lead to a lot of laughing. During winter, you aren’t allowed to wear a coat during class especially with lots of the classes having faulty radiators. I am really unsure on how this effects education in any way whatsoever. Every week on Thursdays you are required to fill out an “attendance page” on your planner even though this is fully recorded on the school register app named SIMS, and for the parent and child to view on both ClassCharts parents and student versions of the app. Recently, another rule was passed not allowing students to wear bracelets or any jewellery other than small ear studs. I don’t see this as affecting learning at all, but if a student is fiddling and not listening I understand it can be confiscated. But even ones completely undistractive are not allowed. Almost every floor in the school has a broken lock on one of the doors. Due to the small size of the school, it is easier to make friends and more personally know the teachers, which is good. During break, there really is no fun. The grammar school across the road nicks the school as “a prison” which is understandable as you’re placed on tarmac just to stand and pace the school until that slow 15 minutes of break you’re allowed is over. Lots of lessons are poorly executed such as IT with the lack of IT teachers, you’re usually given a sad supply teacher who knows nothing about the subject and reading a word document for where kids are made to use 1990 computer programs where the kids have to make up their own fun. The canteen is abnormally small for what is allowed. Kids are pushed and shoved, then a half arse attempt from the school to stop this was a fence put across, which only almost makes it worse.
Do not send your child here if they have special educational needs, unless of course, you want your child to suffer severe trauma. You have been warned.
My experience at central was shit sure I liked some of the teachers but all the rest didn't give two fucks about kids being bullied I have autism and adhd and they didn't do anything when I said I was being bullied they told me to ignore the bully so I did but It got worse. I got told off and detention because I punched someone because they were bullying me about my fucking autism and a teacher stood there and watched as i punched the other student and I got blamed for it all . WORSE SCHOOL EVER . DONT SEND YOUR KIDS THERE
witnessed a lot of bullying here. not exactly the best school if you need extra support or smt.. most of the teachers seem to be in it for the money though
Not a shit school but not a great school either. There’s many decent teachers but there’s also those who are in it for the money. Bullying is an issue within the school. It’s annoying that teachers are more arsed about you having a coat on when it’s freezing and they have the windows open but you have disruptive people that ruin your education that only get sent out to be put back into the next lesson and their behaviour continues.
