Thay have stated many time that out ankles if not covered are distracting to the plboy and the teachers. They've also been instances where one of the male teachers have walked in the changing room door
This school offers a good education but teachers are poor in effort and the punishment system is not fair and it also does not support student’s mental health in any way
do not send your kids here. some of the rules are so pointless that when students break them, staff dont even realise. theyre so overly obsessed with people who roll up skirts that they dont even care about the ones who do follow the uniform policy.
dont even get me started on the new uniform policy. it sounds like something that has been DIRECTLY COPIED from the 1950’s. no make-up? one ring on either hand only? no branded trainers for pe? what are we, barbie dolls for you to dress up? we come to school to learn, not to be bribed about what accessories we wear and dont wear. besides, it literally makes no difference doing these or not.
now onto the punishment system, an INSTANT DETENTION for talking in the corridors? “we do it to respect the other working year groups” NO. the children working in the classes are already loud enough, why should we have to go completely silent? it also has a bad effect on detentions because it makes them less valuable. plus, nobody even follows the rule either including me coming from a good student that every teacher thinks innocent of.
also the c1’s, c2’s and so on that children get marked on in class. again, whats the point? they loose value. no child is going to dread getting a c1 for something so pointless as not including your word of the lesson in your book just once. these “warnings” are supposed to TEACH A LESSON. not just countlessly be added on for so many children in just 1 daily lesson that it becomes normalised.
teachers literally have no mercy either, no matter how much of a good student you are they will not hesitate to publicly embarrass you infront of the whole class for something such silly as sticking in the wrong sheet.
another thing that i think is ridiculous is that the teachers have to call a member of staff to walk you down to the toilet. EXCUSE ME? we are children aged 11-16, i think we can take ourselves to the toilets thank you very much. this is a bigger problem for girls in particular, sometimes staff do not come down. and when they dont, teachers will not let you go to the toilet in any case. do you expect us to stain YOUR chairs with blood? get a grip.
i also suspect a dodge in worldwide politics within this school. regarding the palestine topic, so many children tried to do harmless acts to spread awareness and were basically told to shut up by teachers. yet the whole staff community decides to make a WORSHIP THEME on pride month? inequality. before you say school doesnt try to introduce politics, no. they generally try get children to be interested in them but when it comes to what they see as “conflict” which is actually just genocide, they dodge it like nothing ever happened. school is supposed to teach history and the right ideas. not the wrong ones.
the building, classes and learning is great but compared to the amount of improvements that could be made it all falls back.
this sums up to my conclusion that i am overly not pleased. this school could be way better. your children will hate this place, send them somewhere else.
My school is very focused on helping all of their students academically but rarely focus on mental health. Sure they do assembly every so often but when someone one is having a panic attack they rarely know what to do. They also don't help people who have mental disabilities but are high functioning enough to mostly be independent
