So many improvements
Three years ago, Carr Hill had quite the name for itself when it came to the daunting task of choosing a high school for my child. Needless to say, it wasn't our first choice, it was however, the choice we were given. How wrong we were to worry!
My child has absolutely flourished since starting high school and the changes that the new head is introducing are only cementing this. Children's happiness, education and parental feedback are at the heart of all these improvements and we can't wait to see what else there is in store.
I have another child, due to start high school this September and have absolutely no hesitations about sending her to Carr Hill.

My daughter absolutely loves attending Carr Hill- she regularly comes home excited to tell me about her day, what she’s learnt and the exciting changes the new leadership team are making. I would recommend this school to others.

Absolute fantastic school. Since my child starting in September I can only say positive things about Carr Hill. It feels that under new leadership there is a real shift in the school’s culture with high expectations being at the core. The school has got an exciting future ahead with lots of positive changes for our children. My daughter is very settled and thriving. We could not ask for more as she starts her journey at high school.

Improvement
Ever since our new headteacher took over, the school’s been getting way better. Teachers actually seem more into it, there are more cool activities, and even the rules make more sense now. The vibe is way more positive, and you can tell they actually want us to do well. Plus, some parts of the school are getting a much-needed upgrade. Definitely feels like a big step up!

Huge improvements under new leadership
It really feels like things are taking a turn for the positive with the new leadership and direction of the school. There’s an massively increased degree of professionalism that’s immediately apparent and I’m excited and hopeful for the future of both the school and the pupils who will benefit from this.

a new head started this year and school is massively different. Pupils are happy coming to school and teachers are miles more personable.

Main problem is the kids
I went into the school with a lot of bad expectations from other people but I have seen that the teachers are mostly nice but the main problem is the kids, so much of the kids are mean, disrespectful, disobedient and just bad students. It’s hard to focus because of other students behaviour and not a lesson goes by where at least 1 person doesn’t get a grade 3 or lower.

Worst school ever I'm in year 10 now and each teacher is over the top about everything and they lie about everything aswell so now my own mum believes them more than me even tho just the other day I got shouted at for looking out a window when the whole class was messing about
Rubbish school
Terrible school, I spent 4 years here before having to leave due the discrimination towards students. Mainly those with underlying/ undiagnosed conditions. The teachers and staff have favourites and you get picked on for the littlest of things. They do nothing to stop on-going bullying, the pastoral team is rubbish and do nothing to help you. This school damages mental health and attitude towards learning. It needs a rework, new staff, new curriculum and educate teachers on mental health, disorders, disability’s etc.

Under new leadership there have been real change already, in the school’s culture, the expectations of both students and teachers has been at the centre.
After a shakey transition, my son is settled and thriving, thanks to the new head, the head of year 7 and his mentor. Everything is headed in the right direction and I would definitely recommend Carr Hill High School.
