I decided to stop on at Cardinal Griffin for sixth form and I must say, it was a mistake. The majority of staff at Cardinal Griffin are lovely, they'll attempt to help you out with things and they genuinely tried, but how backwards the school has started reaching has pushed quite a few away from the school. Sixth formers are no longer treated like adults (as promised) despite sixth form being a transition into adulthood, plus the lack of care for student wellbeing. Anyway, I moved to Cannock College 2 weeks ago and when o say College is 10x better than Cardinal Griffin Sixth Form, I mean it.
Don’t get me wrong there were some amazing teachers there that really cared about my progress and me overall and would go above and beyond. However, I had medical issues that required me to have help with the likes of a laptop for both lessons and exams and extra times or equivalent during exams. Across my 3 years there, it was never mentioned that I could have access to this until a maths teacher, who was also was a deputy I think, said I could have access to this and he’ll help me get it, never happen. Furthermore, across my 3 years there, they didn’t do anything to help me with bullying and didn’t really seem to care.
