NO GOOD FOR SEN CHILDREN

Sent my child here in Sept 2024 because it appeared on the face of it to be the best school for his ADHD & Autism. However, it is now the 10th December and after many meetings with senior staff and the Headteacher, things are no further forward. The senior staff try to put things in place and on the pupil passport for teachers to see so that they can use the techniques listed for their lessons. Teachers however do not read the passports let alone put any techniques in place for the classroom and give out willy nilly detentions everyday, twice a day or more for ADHD / Autism symptoms such as fidgeting, lack of focus etc. This has resulted in my child being sent out of class and wondering around the whole school and calling home to pick him up. Currently my child is only on Part time hours which they still can't deal with. If you have a child with additional needs do not send here, biggest mistake I've made especially as it's not local to us.

This school is just a hellhole, the food was overpriced and just horrible, the students are horrible, the teachers are mid, there’s vaping & litter everywhere, there’s kids who would show up to class high on weed or drunk and teachers didn’t notice, this school also has a horrible bullying problem , classes are always disruptive, this place sucks parents don’t send your kids here

Avoid like the plague

An appalling school if I wasn’t blinded by all the spit and polish on the open day where they made and effort I’d have grabbed my sons hand and ran. Draconian management and staff that for want of a better word believe ‘minimum pay minimum effort. Apps for homework that don’t work or can’t access when you ask to reset a password it can take days to do if you miss the homework in this time you get a detention. Not to mention after doing it online you have to write it in your book (pointless) if you don’t get 100% in your homework you get detention instead of looking at what was wrong and TEACHING the child you get punished. Don’t bother emailing any of the staff as they will take forever to respond (that’s if they even bother to) poor behaviour not addressed and a blasé attitude to it. Only just got their good rating back after being in the ‘needs improvement’ from 2016-2021. Vaping and fighting in the toilets bad behaviour on the busses isn’t addressed and the cleanliness of the toilets is 3rd world. If I had the choice to move our son I would but he’s made strong friendships. This school is very poor and needs a total overhaul.

The problem with campion

I’am currently in year 11 and for the most part school is okay but the sets for core subjects are a mess and the HY is annoying and repetitive. So yeah it’s not in that regard great.

Campion School & Language College

As a student of 3 years here, It is a good school. We have a 6th form and many choices of lessons to take. In year 7&8 students do three languages, German, French and Spanish. After this ready for year 9 students will pick the language they want to do for GCSEs. There is a wide range of sport in pe and we have assemblers once a week. Our school is very good at handling bullying situations causing these problems to occur less often. Once every fortnight students of all years will do a PSCHE lesson and in years 7, 8 & 9 pupils do a DEAR lesson. This is where a teacher will or the pupil themselves will read for an hour. This increases our strength and capability of english language and literacy levels.
