caister academy do not give a shit about the pupils whatsoever. they will only care about you if you are representing the school in a good way. also they will only care about you if you have good grades. i have a lot to say about this school and im only in year 7. first off the teachers, if your one of the pupils who get in trouble pretty often then the teachers will target you and try get you in trouble. they just pick and pick on the 'naughty' kids. all my teachers target me because im a 'naughty' kid. which that is not true im not a 'naughty kid' its just personally for me i think the kids that misbehave the most at school are the ones that have a lot going on. which i do im not going to lie, i just want too do well in school but i cant when teachers are targeting me 24/7 and that makes my mental health even worse. and my english teacher, mr harmer. his teaching ways for me are i just dont get him at all and i ask him for support he doesnt give it. he knows i get easily distracted and i aint that good at english but he never gives any of us support cuz we arent aloud to put are hands up đź’€ another thing. one of the pe teachers mr mcmillan SPAT in my face once. he is absolutely vile. he didnt even say sorry and he knew what he did. and aswell a teacher got sacked from my school because she locked 2 year 9s in a classroom. like the school needs to hire better staff. and one of the teachers, miss newberry well, at the start of the year she was really nice to me and she said she would always be there for me. she has even saw me cry. well one day i was being really 'naughty' and its because of somthing that happend at home, i just wanted a distraction. so i chose school. and then she accsues me of pushing her over. if you was to check the camras i didnt even touch her. then i got suspended for 4 days. when i came back she tried to act like my best friend again. i told her to go away and i want nothing to do with her. and there is somthing werid about this school as a lot of teachers keep leaving, a science teacher left, a catering teacher left, a libary teacher left, a english teacher left, a english teacher got sacked, a cover teacher got sacked, like what the fuck is going on with this school. you can also get suspended for ridiculous reasons. ive got suspended 4 times and if i get one more suspension im permed. aswell, they treat you like an animal in a cage at the zoo. when the bell goes after a few mins all of the corridor doors lock and the ones to acces outside to get into the 2nd building. so, if u was talking to a teacher then go to your lesson you cant because the doors are locked, then you get a L3 which is truenting your lesson which leads to 24hrs in reflection. the school is not fair at all. and all of my teachers are always trying to target me so i came up with a plan this week, i got reflection everyday this week on purpose so i wouldnt have to go into my lessons. and if you go in reflection you dont get s break and lunch but idc about that. and i find when i sit down in reflection i just learn a lot better. and they dont give a shit about your mental health. the reason i dont go into my lessons anymore is cuz i het really nervous and i have panick attacks in the toilets. i tell the teachers this, and they think im lying as im known as one of the 'naughty kids' do not send your kid to this school!!!
My Experience at Caister Academy.
I was a student here from 2018-2023, throughout my time there, there seemed to be a general lack of care towards student mental health and wellbeing and also the more creative subjects such as art and photography (so much so that they lost my final photography exam which meant I had to do it all again in a more limited amount of time, almost costing me my GCSE). The school also claimed to have a zero tolerance bullying policy, however if I ever had issues and spoke to SLT about it, which was on various different occasions, I was never taken seriously and so just learnt to deal with things like that by myself which should never have to be the case for any student anywhere. Communication between school and parents was also appalling as during my time here, there was a lot of mistakes made due to a lack of communication, such as work experience dates, and one of the SLT members blocking my mother’s email which prevented her from contacting the school. The sanitary bins in the girls toilets were disgraceful and seemed to be rarely emptied (whether this has changed since I left I’m not sure), which is a major hygiene issue and also just outright disgusting.
Honestly wouldn't recommend
Teachers don't know how to control their own classrooms and the rules just get stricter and stricter. People who behave worse get more praise than people who behave well, someone who has behaved terrible for the entire lesson will get rewarded when they do the bare minimum and that doesn't make sense at all cause they shouldn't be getting rewarded for the bare minimum. There aren't really any teachers who care about mental health, they could say they'll have a talk with you but it's never helpful and sometimes when they say they'll come get you they never do, its pointless reaching out for help because they don't care enough to make it a priority. It feels more like a prison rather than a school ever since they've gotten automatic locking doors on every block in the school. School will usually blame you more than someone whose done you wrong which is so messed up and to be honest it just doesn't feel like they care about you at all anything to do with students is unimportant to them, they care more about your attendance than what's causing you to not come in, also they don't do anything about problems you email them about.

The teachers don't care about you unless your grades are good. The students are taught useless morals. The higher staff make promises which end up unforfilled. There was mold in the food. Multiple times.

Issues with the school
(There are more issues but here’s some of them) never get help always being told of even tho I haven’t done nothing teacher done help you it’s horrible don’t inform your parents with any learning disabilities or learnings difficulties don’t tell your parents if you get a detention give you a detention for the littlest things like not having a pen forgetting your equipment or gets put in isolation when ever you don’t have a tie or the correct shoes or even if you wear white socks or socks that go above the knees even if there broke the school doors lock all the time in the hallways and the teachers are so rude can’t go to the toilet even when it’s lunch time you get kicked out also when girls are on there period your not allowed to go toilet even if you’ve leaked on a chair they won’t send you home to get yourself sorted I’ve had to walk out of school also won’t move seating plan even if you have an issue with the person your sat with. I wouldn’t recommend to Anyone
Worst school in Norfolk
They say they care ab our mental health but then the teacher cause us to have brake downs and panic attacks I have walked out of lessons almost everyday and we get locked in by automatic door locks they treat us like we’re not human and overall is just purely mental abuse the teachers treat us like we’re just people to shout at and when you shout back your in the wrong even when you’ve done nothing wrong

I have been struggling since year 7 and now in year 11 they have only started trying to help me and get me tested for things but when I have a mental break down don’t help me just send me back to lessons i would not recommend going to this school the school doors also lock in the cooridor don’t help you with learning if struggling and the staff love you get you into trouble even if you haven’t done nothing wrong

Shit school,wouldn't recommend, has gone so far downhill that it is now basically a high security prison, the food is never cooked properly, all of the lessons are not taught very well, and the staff don't try and help you unless you are seriously bad behaved in lessons

The school has gone down hill so much since we got a new head master and we’re treated like we’re in a prison the doors get locked at curtain times so if you have an appointment you can’t get to the lesson you need after the appointment due to the doors locking

The school wasn’t the best
When I was there from year 7-11 they did absolutely nothing about bullying, I was relentlessly bullied because I came out and the teachers told me I should of not came out and such. The school system there is absolute bullshit and they say they want us to try the best that we can, we do they’re not satisfied til you’re mentally unstable. I remember taking time off school because I wasn’t mentally there and they tried to fine my my for something I cannot control, I see the school councillor and nothing helped. The school is just bullshit and whoever goes here will not like it whatsoever due to the new rules (ie, isolation for wearing white socks, hair cuts, if you’re being bullied they punish you and not the person that’s responsible.) I will say there was some good times at this school, because of this one teacher that is so lovely and I will forever hold her in my heart, she helped me there and she was only a TA, her name is miss mannell and she was the kindest soul there. If you go here, be careful due to the shit rules and some teachers too, always follow them or you’ll be thrown out.

gone downhill but not the worst
the school has seriously gone downhill. it was a lot better when i was in year 7 and now i am in year 11 and it is becoming awful. teachers are becoming stricter and many teachers cannot control their classes and their teaching methods can be poor and questionable, such as one teacher who, if you were to ask a question, she will just repeat anything she previously said and will not elaborate. it is extremely unhelpful. well behaved students are not rewarded enough, and poorly behaved students are rewarded too much for doing just the bare minimum. some of the teachers do teach well and can control the class but for me the negatives end up outweighing the positives because at the end of the day, years of my school time have been wasted because of some teacher's incredibly poor control and teaching style.

Brilliant school, excellent teachers.
I was a student here from 2014 to 2019. The staff were absolutely brilliant. Always there for students even if they were misbehaving. The teaching staff went above and beyond to help students with not only issues in school, but issues outside of school. The catering staff were excellent at their profession, and the food was delicious.
