Ex-student here. Overall my experience was alright. Most teachers, except the Head, were really nice maybe a bit strict but it could be expected of be a year 6 class. One of the main let downs was the headteacher, I used to attend and after school judo club run by an outside company, the man that was sent to teach us obviously shouldn’t have been working with young kids and he became paranoid that we were plotting against a grown-man, this judo teacher even telephoned my mum drunk to tell her that I was “sly”, “manipulative” and “snidely acting” in his class. If this is the sort of person they trust around children, what does that say about the school? The headmaster got involved, in a club that wasn’t his business, and stopped me from going because “I bullied and other student” which I had never done, he even defended the judo coach.
This incident, among others, were what made my last year there hell. The year 6 teacher left for a while and the head filled in for her, and after that all I got were personalised attacks, even being sent out of the class for picking up a pen without permission. He had an authoritarian view on his classroom.
I feel overall the school was good but this man bring the quality of education down.
Awful school, the teachers do not care about the students I was bullied and the school did nothing however when someone lied about me bullying them I was almost immediately reprimanded because their mother was "a respected member of the community". The Headteacher is absolutely useless and the teachers cannot not teach anything. My grades were poor when I went to this school as soon as I moved up to year 7 my grades made an immediate jump by 2-3 levels the food was utterly awful I once bit down on a piece of metal that had made it's way into my mashed potatoes I also knew people who were singled out and bullied by some of the teachers. In conclusion this is a pitiful excuse of a school and an utter embarrassment to the English education system.
