If you’re looking for a safe place to send your kids….this place is NOT it.
Over the last 6 months I felt anxious leaving my child in their care.
At pick up time they would come home with deep scratches which have scared their face and arms, constant bruises on their back, bite marks, and large bumps to the back of the head.
All caused by ONE other child.
According the manager, this is apparently normal behaviour and brushed off.
In the end, they stopped logging incidents and telling us about them. We would only find out by seeing teeth marks or bruises on their body when we picked them up.
There were multiple complaints raised by myself and other parents encountering the same issue, but nothing has ever been done to keep the kids safe.
Sadly after so many years and good friendships, I decided to remove my child from their ‘care’ for the sake of their wellbeing and safety.
Just so the reader of this review is aware, the same problematic child is still there, so if you do decide to place your kid here, I wish you the best of luck, you may need it.
I would not be able to recommend Bright Horizon Ely at all, as children’s safety should come first and that is not the case for the management of this nursery.
After 2 years, we have had to remove our daughter from this school due to serious concerns for her welfare.
The toddler room was great, teachers were great and our child learned and developed at a great pace.
Then Pre-school....
- High turn over of staff
- Key worker changed every 2 months
- Regular low staff to child ratios, especially at collection times (as I have not been to the nursery during the day).
Then the safety questions.....
- Daughter has multiple deep scratches all over her face. The school never contacted us at all to inform us.
- Daughter had a seriously large lump on the back of her head with bloody speckles.
- Daughter had a bite mark and teeth imprint on her hand
- Daughter was punched in the back whilst waiting to be collected by myself....
- All by the same 1 child.
Complaints where raised to on-site management, escalated to the safe guarding team, escalated to a regional director and all failed to action any plan to safeguard the children.
