I went to BTC on the Taunton campus and I found them a great college. They were very accommodating to my needs when I joined with severe mental health issues and undiagnosed ADHD. They were very quick to put in place support nearly everyday and accommodate needs for me in the classrooms. I bonded very well with the staff members and they were very understanding of my situation. I did a level 3 course which was a big work load but they were very good to give me extensions and help with it. The only downside is that I found that some staff members weren’t as good for explaining while their teaching, they didn’t break it down/slow down so I found it very overwhelming to work sometimes but they were very fast to get a teaching assistant to join the class so it would be much less stressful for me and others in the class. I was going through the worst time of my life and they definitely saved my life at times.
When a school acknowledges a student for physical health needs but not for mental health needs then it is already a bad school. When tutoring a group of young adults/teenagers you would assume teachers and other staff would be more vigilant of those kinds of scenarios.
