Worst school in Lincolnshire, hughly racist and discriminatory. They don't even have proper qualified teachers but substitute ones which has a huge effect on students education. More interested in grades than students wellbeing. Border line dictatorial, awful place
Went here from year 7 to sixth form. Serious lack of genuine care for mental health - it’s all for show. Went to support staff, openly talked about severe issues and felt as if I was being actively avoided, never checked up on. School is far more interested in policing uniform than supporting it’s students. If you were late/ absent you would be yelled at immediately, they weren’t interested if you were struggling or had issues going on outside of school. The atmosphere is genuinely miserable, really low morale, the whole place is literally painted grey. Some teachers are genuinely great, make time to help and are actually passionate. Others seem like they genuinely couldn’t care less, disrespectful and rude to students. Art department was always severely under supported by head of school, yet the art teacher was one of the most hardworking and passionate people in the whole school.
If you don’t want to destroy your mental health I recommend you don’t go here.
This is actually a really good school, from a students perspective most of the teachers are really good, especially the SSC staff most are very efficient and kind people. Most of the teachers are also very kind people and good at their jobs however I’ve had a couple bad experiences with a couple of them. However I’ve learnt so much in many lessons and if you are behind on subjects they provide intervention classes to help.
Half the teachers don't know what they're doing. Classes are often way behind everyone else or
(albeit more rarely) even get taught the wrong thing for their exams. The teachers also don't know how to control the class, leading to a lot less work being done. Less disruptive students often just teach themselves off the PowerPoints uploaded to Team's because there is barely enough information on them, so they are quicker and easier to complete alone than to wait for your teacher to stop failing at dealing with a student who keeps talking back at them. The staff don't care about your mental well-being and the department meant to deal with it have no clue how to deal with people having issues, or really how to deal with teenagers at all. Their mental health lessons are a joke. They never try to help destigmatize mental health by talking about specific disorders. They always just focus on general stress and anxiety, which is understandable once or twice, but not when that's all the mental health information teenagers are getting. Even then, you basically just get told to take a breather and do something you like, which, at least in my opinion, we don't need a whole hour long lesson about. They also ignore the abuse of lgbtq+ and disabled students and blame it on being so open about things. Meanwhile, they pretend that they care by having special non uniform days and (uninformed) PowerPoints about the topics. Don't send your child here if you care about them. This school is a grammar school, yes, but the admirable state it was at years ago is not true anymore.
absolutely terrible, teachers do not care about mental wellbeing or helping your education, does not do anything about bullying expect make it worse so you end up scared to come to school
Boston high school is an amazing school full of amazing teachers who care not only about your learning but your mental health and wellbeing. The learning experiences they offer are amazing and they push you to achieve your best standard.
