This school has serious issues. Over 90% of the children simply do not want to learn at all, and have no respect to the staff or visiting staff. This is a shame as the remainder of children are keen to learn. But this is made extremely difficult by the behaviour of their classmates. I did witness a number of good teachers at the school, but this was drastically offset by the lack of professionalism from the school's Behaviour Management Team, who exhibit no tact when following up on false allegations made by students towards staff. This is definitely one of those schools in which the children rule the school. There are many such schools with this problem, but it goes overlooked and not acted upon in order that such schools can retain some prestige, however false. Much of the behaviour from the children in this school is absolutely disgusting. But there is no way for this to be corrected until the Behaviour Management Team lift their heads out of the sand and learn to support the teachers in the school.
The teachers are the most boring individuals to ever walk the earth or there complete creeps who will stare at little girls all day. One example would recently be a certain Indian ex math teacher who was caught talking to 13 year old girls. I also get bullied for my big lips and people call me a frog and theirs some people that even put food down my back at break/lunch!1!1!1! Im sick of my teachers being so funny and quirky such as when a certain science teacher stroked my chin hair and did the most devious of laughs. One of my friend had to go to hopital becuase of the school foods. I wanna come out as gay but i think ill get bullied by the students and teachers for it - JF

Horrible school, cameras in the toilets, fights every day, perverted teachers, out of date drinks, disgusting food, terrible staff. For you and your kids sake don’t send them here.
the school has very obvious favouritism; outspoken and confident children are treated well, whereas quieter ones who follow rules are ignored. there is also a big problem of transphobia, racism, sexism, homophobia and xenophobia from the students which is mainly ignored by the teachers - i'm in year 9 and have only seen one teacher actually respond to one of these, though he didn't actually do anything to try and put a stop to it, just told some kids to basically not make sexist remarks. the teachers seem to have awfully good ears for everything except discrimination of minorities, which is funny considering the fact that on the outside they promote equality for all. english classes are boring and teach us nothing, just how to attempt to analyze a text. i could say the same for most other classes, they're boring and teachers don't make an attempt to make anything fun at all (apart from perhaps my french teacher). how am i suppost to learn if i'm so bored that my brain is wandering everywhere? and then if you turn in a piece of homework late, it's your fault when we are in the middle of a pandemic and even without that many of us are mentally ill. most of the teachers have no regard for kids with poor mental health and you can't expect everyone to tell you if they're struggling, in reality it's probably a small percentage that would actually talk to a teacher about it, and yet the teachers move on as if everyone is fine mentally, like there must be nobody in their class struggling. any problems are overlooked. students have also been forced to go outside during break/lunch (even pre-pandemic) for no reason.
I really enjoy the school and staff at Boldon. I believe alot of the students lower the standard of Boldon however the school itself is a great place with amazing facilities and staff.
Alright if you stay on the teachers good sides. If you get on their bad side, they will abuse their power to make sure you are miserable. A lot of short tempers and a general hatred of children, which should be unusual at a school.
Big on promoting anti-bullying and mental health awareness whilst also completely ignoring these, and similar issues.
Whilst some teachers are polite and down to Earth, a lot more of them seemingly can’t be bothered to deal with children and their individual learning needs. “We learnt this last year” is something that is said at least 5 times every day when students require help. If your child is shy or quiet, they will not have their needs met.
Cleaners and bistro assistants have some terrible attitudes towards the jobs that they themselves have chosen to do.
Overall, if your child is smart but not clever, confident but not outspoken and performs well but isn’t talented, they should have no problem at this school. If your child is slightly different from this guideline? Look elsewhere.
I am a student at boldon and I would like to say how amazing the school is. Throughout my time there I’ve had a wide range of opportunities there. Overall the teaching system is great each department has highs and lows however there’s only one bad point on Boldon School and that would be the supply staff some of the supplies teach completely different subjects and can’t help in the subject they have to teach. Although other than that Boldon School is a awsome school !
