Boring. It is not the best school. I feel like im being forced to pray catholic and if your free school meals you get like a two pound budget for food and lunch is 40 mins long. You cant use ur phone basically at all they have roofs that stop your data from working so you cant call your dad except if your in reception. GENERALLY: the school is NOT recommended just go st james
this school is absolutely horrible. do not send ur kids to here its basically a living hell.. the only entertainment is the fights most days at break & lunch🌚 they tel us to be good for ofset (we litteraly had a whole ahh asembly to say to be on your best behaviour acting like there wasnt a massive fight the day b4 and the teachers had to litterally floor the kids🤣)and they litterally favorite the special kids and do not give a flying flip on your emotions
It sucks like balls and everyone is annoying eg orange laddy and the dirty ass crusty toliets the guard the toliets like wtf a one way system and over priced food like wtf it £1.50 for Gail's pizza witch is a big L and the mission team are an L and sparks maths is dog shit and they alow porn like wtf. Btw they have cameras in the toliets
Unfairly push a warped version of catholicism onto students.
Favour catholic students over other students.
Don't academically challenge any students that aren't in top set.
bishop Millner has evil teachers because i go to bishop in year 7 all great and what not but when i progressed i started to feel depressed, every i see bulling happen at bmcc the teachers do nothing about it and do not expel the students who impact others learning and the teachers hardly care and only about the next pay check everytime u are injured and go to reception they tell u to deal wth it and when you leave whisper behind your back about how our making it up i truly wished i never went to this school
Writing this from the perspective of someone who doesn't get involved in politics and keeps their nose out of people's business: the equal rights at this school just...don't exist. This school is rife with racism, sexism, and homophobia, not just from students but with occasional jabs from the teachers too! There's at least 2 fights per month, and while they're entertainment for the students who are bored to death in the freezing cold outside with no indoor or outdoor shelter, they're a representation of how bad this school's really gotten. The education - AQA for GCSE in all departments except humanities, which are Edexcel - is okay, but half the teachers just do not care anymore. I had to relearn half my subjects due to this lax behaviour and it's made my GCSEs insufferable. The rules around dress code and behaviour have gotten unreasonably strict now too. 1) Instead of being equal and letting the boys wear studs last year, they decide to abolish ALL piercings whatsoever. (Only earlobes were allowed in the first place!) 2) They currently have a green, amber, and red card system - but literally anything from showing up over 3 minutes late to a lesson leads to a half-hour detention after school, with there being absolutely no warning card in place (if your child is prone to talking or messing up in class, this school is not the right place for them to go - positive reinforcement does not exist here, and they'll be spending half their days in detention instead of learning anyway). 3) Phones, even to contact parents, are not welcome on the property whatsoever. This is more just a heads-up rather than a complaint, but it's a key piece of information. 4) Challenging teachers - even for a legitimate reason (biggest example I can think of is when a teacher put someone in isolation for a breach of school rules that they didn't even commit and the person that DID commit it ended up walking away with a slap on the wrist) - will lead to an amber or red. 5) Budget is constantly spent on some brand new, irrelevant, school renovation (this year it was windows that look, frankly, really out of place) when there's literally kids who can no longer afford school meals, computers running on 10 year-old hard drives and MICE infestations in the 'library room' (there is literally three bookshelves and you can no longer take books out due to COVID) - plus a 'minor' fly infestation in the girl's bathroom.
There is no fairness here. There's no justice system for the children, and there's no reason for engaging learning except one or two teachers that really sparked my interest. I'm just really glad I didn't go to sixth form here.
