They told me I would never achieve anything. And they told me I was stupid

Birchwood is an absolute nightmare. The facilities are beyond decrepit, resembling a derelict prison more than a place of learning. The classrooms are filthy, infested with pests, and poorly maintained. The teaching staff are indifferent at best, and negligent or hostile at worst. Lessons are chaotic, and learning is impossible in such an environment. The administration is completely incompetent and unresponsive, ignoring all concerns raised by parents and students alike. Bullying, violence, and other serious issues run rampant, with no action taken to address them. This school is a danger to both mental and physical health. Avoid it like the plague.

Sexuality harrased by staff, transphoba,homophobia, bullying and sexual advanses from teacher to student. You get told the same 10 lessons from yr9 to yr 11 a miracle I passed my GSCEs bearly. There is not enough food for everyone and even with loads of people bringing in packed lunch there was days were the school would have no food for lunch and tons of students would have to go without.

Decent teachers throughout, school needs priorities working on, I was sexually assaulted by a member staff, reported it and was told the staff member “was known for years and would never do this”. Later proven he was fired from another school for similar approachs. Lovely bunch of Sports team/ physical education staff though.

A good enough school but nothing special.
