Berwick Academy

do not come or send your kids to Berwick academy as it is a terrible place the staff there expect you to give them respect but treat you poorly they want you to dress the same and act same you get no freedom and they hand out detentions for the silliest of things if you do not have the right piece of uniform as an example a tie or the right shoes you are told to go to IE (isolation) for breaks and lunches you are also not aloud any face piercings or any piercings you can see other than the stud in the lobe. The school changes the rules every year to fit in for off stead and it’s draining the students they claim to have a school counsellor but does nothing when it comes to serious problems it has gotten that bad students are now facing serious mental health problems and are developing poor mental health so if you want your children to do good in life and want a good education please avoid picking Berwick academy

This school is the definition of hell. They tell us to act like adults but continue to treat us and speak to us like children. They tell us how we can’t rely on others and need to be independent but still continue to take every piece of independence off us. How can you tell parents you allow us to be ourselves but all this school wants is everyone dress the same and act the same.Not one person at this school cares about how the students feel. They state to have a school councillor that helps but i don’t believe telling other students everything someone has told you is helping in the slightest. No matter what you do or say you will end up in IE. No one will ever try to help the people in there either, they’re left there with ‘work’ to do but none of the work is actually relevant. Don’t send your kids here if you’re expecting them to do well, teachers are teaching subjects they have no clue about which has resulted in the majority of the people i know failing the classes they did.

This school really needs to improve, they let people get off with bullying/hurting other teenagers. Teachers give detentions or IE for no reason. We hardly ever get to talk to other people. I am close to getting homeschooled.

The school itself is a draining environment. The rules within the school are ridiculous. They put students in Isolation for the silliest of reasons and they hand out detentions like there’s no tomorrow. I’ve seen students be bawling their eyes out and the pastoral team won’t take a second glance at them. They care about how they look and not about the well-being on the students in the facility. They change the rules every year to fit into the Ofsted criteria and it’s draining all the students having to keep up with it.
