School is more interested in ankles and uniform than actually provide a safe nurturing environment. School to parent communication is poor and punishment is the answer to everything.
My experience at Beckfoot Thornton was marred by serious issues that the school failed to address adequately. Bullying was rampant, creating a toxic environment where many students, myself included, felt unsafe and unsupported. The administration's response to bullying incidents was inadequate, leading to a mass exodus of students seeking safer educational environments.Additionally, the school demonstrated a shocking disregard for reports of sexual assault. Victims were often left unsupported and their complaints poorly handled, further undermining trust in the school's leadership. This neglectful approach to such serious issues highlighted a fundamental failure to prioritize student welfare.Overall, my time at Beckfoot Thornton was characterized by a troubling lack of safety and support. Prospective students and parents should carefully consider these significant concerns before choosing this school.
It is not great at all to put it simply. Half of the teachers don’t care about your well-being or seem to just yell at you to stop being rude when you try to tell them what happened as if they expect someone who is breaking down to be able to form a whole sentence without mistakes. You get told off for the simplest of things like talking even if you were simply POINTING at a word to help the person next to you. Their education system is overall crap since most teachers are unable to meet a child’s requirements to learn properly. Like keeping them focused on something by making it at least a little fun but nooooo, make it horribly boring and expect the child to have no issues with the way you explain it. Antisocial? They’ve never heard of it.
The school is in a terrible condition. It is very unhygienic as there is litter and chewing gum under the tables and sticks to your legs. The teachers tell you off for no reason, even when your trying to help someone out. If you don't have your top button or tie done up properly they put you in isolation for the day. They have a very annoying "one-way" system that doesn't work because the corridors are very claustrophobic. Students are not allowed to be inside the building during lunch, if you are caught even with a valuable reason, they get you done. The headteacher touched my friend inappropriately outside of the school premises. The canteen has rats and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in over a decade. Every week there is a fight between students and the staff can't seem to control anything. Finally, the school has security cameras surrounding the buildings and in every corridor. (Rumour:Some students have said they are hidden cameras above the roof tiles in each classroom to watch students). There is barbed wire surrounding the outskirts of the school with even a some electric fence.
