beacon hill review
ridiculous. school trousers policy for girls is also ridiculous. girls are not alowed stetch trousers but the teachers do not understand tailored trousers do not fit and are uncomfortable. my daughter cannot find tailored trousers that fit as she is short they are baggy buy her thighs are big so they are tight at the top. also teachers do not respect students as they shout at them for little to no reason. worst school 😡

As a student I must say as you enter they give a warm welcome but the longer you stay it goes down hill, from the teachers keeping year sevens out on the field in either the boiling heat or the freezing snow to shout at them for things that some people did not the whole year , the worse thing, they say that they will support you but they just say itl be fine they do have really high expectations

They have huge rewards and congratulate pupils when they meet the expectations and some teachers there are litteraly so kind

Great school accept this one horrible teacher MRS ARMSTRONG who doesn't get along with anyone and doesn't know how to treat innocent children she should be suspended for this poor disgraceful behaviour... She accused innocent children for harrasing her..

Teachers do not listen and take sides. The head of years dont do anything. People with behaviour issues or any other do not get the help they need. They never get trips or non uniform days. The school is so run down and can not fit this many students.They have no good lessons and are the same thing which is boring. Homework is a joke.

Don’t send kids here
I go to this school but there is one teacher who can’t handle problems she takes sides and blames all the other persons stress on that person she shouts and gives a little statement but overal education isn’t bad most teachers are funny and nice to work with but there is a teacher who takes the uniform policy to fatr and there is one teacher that has a grudge against me .
Un happy pupil
Honestly today j have not experienced a worser thing. i have been humiliated and ignored by a teacher. At the start of the lesson i went to the toilet but the teacher would not let me in which is understandable as smiving and bunking off lessons . When i walked in i said sir and he said i dont care just sit down. i took nothing of it until i started to feel un well i said sir and he said i still dont care, i think that is so imature for a teacher to say, i asked him again he went i dont care AGAIN!! I’m very sorry but i have asthma. if it would have been oh sir i can’t breathe or im about to pass out that wouldnt have been acceptable. bit he will let other girls ho to the toilet and let them speak, also, this girl that my friend asked for a sheet and he said yeah but when i asked for one it was a huff and a puff and he chucked the sheet of paper at me. honestly horrible. i feel like im being victimised
My time at beacon hill
The staff at beacon hill academy do very little to help support those that are being harassed and bullied. During exam times for the previous year 11s many teachers were absent for months at a time causing students to fall behind on important work and as a result they did not get the result they needed at GCSE. When it came to racism teachers did not follow through with the appropriate sanctions for those students.

the use of a random name generator to make pupils engage in class discussions instead of just choosing the people with their hands up is deffo the reason I have anxiety now
Stop inequality
The school does not provide much support for Lgbtq+ people, as nearly everyday I hear someone saying faggot, I believe that this should be classed as a swear word and you should get detentions for things like this, or at least follow your own rules and give them the fixed term exclusion that your school policy says they will, giving them a talking to isn't gonna stop them, homophobia doesn't go away because you tell them it can upset people, if it worked like that, homophobia wouldn't exist, I think tmour school should take more action on homophobia and also racism Stop inequality in school, such as the unfair rules female students get compared to boys and female teachers, such as being unable to paint your nails, wear shiny earrings, dye your hair, and cut your hair to your preferred length

This school does have some pros and cons. The pros are that some teachers will help you understand and expand knowledge especially in history, science and maths. Other teachers will completely ignore you and will not give a clear understanding of what you have to do. This school does give help when needed and it will try its hardest to find a way to solve it however, if you seem to be struggling they do not find ways to get you a better idea of what you are doing. They aren’t very fair when I’m class as of using a “name generator” which can build up students anxiety if they do not understand or are struggling. Bullying isn’t really a big problem either here. Most people are quite nice but you have to be nice to stay away from all the horrible people or comments they say. Personally keep a small bubble of close friends that you trust and keep all your other friends outside of it. Every school is the same and there will always be problems no matter where you go, you’ll have bad days and good days. I think most people would agree that being confident really does help you around school, even if you have to fake it always be confident but never be too loud because it’s annoying and not “cool” when you play your mouth to the teachers.
Beacon Hill Academy honest review as a student
In true honesty I haven't had a hideous experience here in all my years, though when I initially came here the bullying was very badly handled and I don't doubt it's still not decent till this day, I have had a good time.
With a few opportunities to hang out and develop more students really do benefit as both individuals and academics, we have chances to relax, learn, and improve ourselves. There are also a multitude of truly caring staff as well which I am appreciative of as they actually welcome you to come to them for counsel and to complete work 😅.
Despite the positives like all things there are definitely negatives I wish to write about.... In my experience rules have gotten unrealistically harsher meaning sometimes the lines system is abused by certain people giving out petty behaviour marks, there is also an inconsistency in certain staff which definitely makes students suffer from their absences (most taking geography have not had a consistent teacher for YEARS! )
If I had to witness any improvements I know I, and many others, would prefer more understanding staff as some can appear irritated and even annoyed by students which is not a welcoming environment at all 😅😂
Overall its alright and standards are improving just be aware that some subjects and teachers..... Aren't the best.
