Horrible school with bad toilet situation. Me being a female I wear a skirt to school, that the school gave me and gets told by my year office that its too short and then progresses to get touched by the catering teacher in my first year, school then doesn't believe and me and family get the police involved and they turn us down and still put me into the same classroom as him and then said I was asking for it due to the length of my skirt instead of the teacher who can't keep it in his pants. Makes me suicidal and self hatred to myself just because of a school so do not go here if yiu have the choice.
The school heads pulls the stupidest changes out of their ass just they can only have a negative affect on their students. They changed the name of the school; changed the uniform; forces you to BUY a pecilcase or else you would get detentions; put a ban on boots for no damn reason, I am especially mad about the boots, especially in this cold freezing country; and has done much more. Student’s were given the option to vote: original uniform or new uniform. Original uniform won the votes but we were forced to wear the new unform instead. This show’s that the staff don’t care about our issues or simply what we think. Thousands of parent made the decision for their children to leave the school for foolish decisions like these. Bay House must change and look for their students’ opinions and listen to what they have to say for thier changes for the school so they can be comfortable at Bay House School.
Year 8 here, I have only been in this school for a year: and I can already tell that it's a dump. The kids are hostile and self centered, and the ones that aren't are just going through a victious cycle of just wanting to make it through till the next Friday. The teachers either try and can't help us or they don't do anything except read of a slide show made 4 years ago. There are no clocks at all (big issue) I want to know the time till I can move again. Not only that they don't try to make the bathrooms sanitary. I once saw poo smeared up a wall and the stain is still there till this day. Don't put double pe I will seriously collapse mentally and physically. Another point, having a uniform is understandable but not to the point where people can't add their own flair and have a unique look: Especially, with the hair. You go on about how your woke and want diversity but you're so afraid of kids expressing using ways you don't want. Get to work.
I would like to share my daughter has been victimised and bullied by teachers ! She has 90% attendance she is doing so well and smashing h her exams and she has been told she isn’t allowed to prom after spending 100S POUNDS to go ! She deserves more than I can explain !! They are cruel !! I am disgusted! All because she forgot to take her nose ring out yet 100s of children wearing so much jewellery it’s an actual joke !
If you want a school where you can visit your child in hospital with a fractured skull and jaw then congratulations you have just found it!!!! Unfortunately I had to award one star!!!!
Terrible school, affected my mental health really badly to the point where they gave me in school counselling one time and forgot every after time. Shocking food, I had literal mould one one of my muffins (I have proof). Some of the teachers attitudes towards the pupils are terrible, last year was a very important year for me meaning I would need a decent teacher to make sure i’m prepared but I was given a new teacher after one term who could not teach. They shouted at the class for an hour and didn’t teach us anything. I’m also concerned about the background checks of some teachers because a few teachers are concerning. The school is also terrible unsafe, for example there was a year 8 walking around the school with a knife the other day. My class was just trying to learn and our lesson was interrupted by this random kid who shouldn’t even be at our school carrying a knife.
Overall this school drained all of the potential the kids have and by year 11 they produced a bunch of emotionally unstable teens. Great job!
General discipline and funny rules one can identify as a boy, girl, cat, dog, whatever they want. If they try to have a nose stud or a pair of trousers, that’s not quite to the school standard highlights in your hair. All of these are not to be accepted, but you can be a dog! Concentrate on a bit more of the 3Rs instead of these silly ideologies. Leave these views for the parents to install in their children rather than the school, imposing their standards on our children.
I'm so sad about leaving this school, it's been a great experience and it's part of my life forever. Will miss the people, my teachers (who are all committed) and the students. Not forgetting the sport and clubs!
Thanks to this school I am now more confident and doing better in my school work. I changed schools to this school and this school is far better. I like all my teachers, they are all so helpful.
This school has really gone up in my estimation. Excellent setting and the teachers and classroom environment are great. The school clubs are very good and the school looks after new students very well.
We are all miserable from the new rules.
They got rid of most of the good canteen food.
8 toilets open for girls but 24 open for boys.
They say we want you to feel safe, happy and successful but yell at you for any minor incident (banter with your mates, etc.) , don't make an effort to stop bullying/depression/anxiety etc and if you get a low test score they tell you how disappointed they are.
They don't listen to what students want.
They say the rules and changes are for your own good but it's making everyone miserable just so they can get a great/outstanding OFSTED report.
They don't do enough for emotionally/ mental health.
Some teachers are just downright rude and mean
I went to my school multiple times about my mental state and they did 1 thing about it which only helped for a couple minutes and then never followed up on it again. Didn't even safeguard me or tell my mum.
The Assembly's are dead boring - make them more interactive for us!
Lessons are dead boring - make them fun! Give it pizazz!
Depression/anxiety/bad mental state is increasing in students and not being delt with
We don't feel safe at school because we are constantly afraid of getting an answer wrong or being yelled at.
I may be young but many people say I act a lot older than I am.
We are not the Bay house family! We are not the Bay House Community! Nobody wants to be in this ignorant family! Nobody wants to be in this cruel community!
I'm going to be a year 9 this September and since year 7 I've thought I can't wait to get out of here
School in over all is bad, toilet sinks don’t work, don’t let you go toilet, none of the toilets work and overall the school is just bad and no one likes it.
Bay house school and sixth form used to be one of the greatest school in Hampshire; however I’m afraid it has had a drastic downfall. In numerous buildings within the school you can find mould along the ceilings and walls, sanitary bins with maggots crawling through them, and in numerous buildings taps that haven’t worked for years. The teachers at school expect students to always be available and turn up to school (and even put much pressure students with medical conditions and mental health illnesses to attend) yet they don’t remove the mould, which can cause us to fall ill. The school is also very protective of teachers, even if that puts students safety at risk. Teachers have been caught following young girls on social media, and watching people urinating at the urinals. These things have been reported to the school, yet nothing has been put in place other than teachers being made to unfollow the social media accounts and punishing the students who speak of the teachers watching students urinating. There has been drug use in the school toilets in the areas which the urinals are yet teachers don’t enter the facility to remove the drugs from the area yet when a student simply needs the toilet a teacher feels the need to watch. Furthermore the school does very little to support students mental health, and awards students who are cruel to their peers for simply doing what other students do on the daily. Students have been witnessed to be carrying weaponry such as knives, and even threatening other students with them, there has been numerous times where students have been assaulted and harassed by peers, and nothing is done to put a stop to this behaviour apart from a detention or two day long suspension, however when a student refuses to remove shoe tags from their shoe laces or take off a bracelet they can get a detention too, or if a student is wearing shorts which aren’t tailored they’re required to go home, change the shorts, and have to spend as much time as it had taken them to go home and return to school in detention.
It’s a good school that offers a lot. Although some of the teachers need to be better for example, the PE teachers. They are probably the least sympathetic teachers I know. If you twist your ankle and can hardly move on it “Walk it off you’ll be fine”. If you break your finger playing Netball, “I don’t think it’s broken, keep playing”. Some teachers are better though our Drama and English teachers are very nice and are practically everyone’s favourite. If you’re thinking about joining our school, I would advise you to do it just know that it is a very busy school with a sixth form.(Years 7-13 ages 11-18 up to 12,000 pupils). The corridors are quite busy and you can find yourself pushed around a lot. Our school is LBTQIA+ friendly and there is a support drop in every Wednesday lunchtime. If you’re in Year 8, I would highly recommend joining the Global Curriculum. They offer programs just for the tutor and it is a one year opportunity so if you miss it, you will regret it. The Global Curriculum offers programs such as the ‘Take two islands project’ where you learn about UNESCO islands such as the Isle of Wight and Rapa Nui (Easter island) and learning BSL (British Sign Language). You also get the advantage of learning 2 languages but the disadvantages are you can’t choose them and and you can’t go back to the one you were doing in year 7 in year 9. Overall I think that Bay House is a good school and is recommended trying it is right next to Stokes Bay and is very accessible (except it isn’t very wheelchair friendly, no ramps and two lifts although we are hoping to change that). I would recommend Bay House for those who are thinking about joining.
I can't belive how bad it is. My expectations were low going in but were absolutelty shatered in the first year. The toilets are revolting and going with in 5 feet will give you gonorrnhea. The teachers are beond bad and if they had hiered people off of the street we might have been able to learn something. The school does not care if about the sanitation of the toilets, I feel bad for the cleaners who are doing the best they can out of the abismall situation they are given. One time a random group of people got into the school, it got so bad the school called the police. If you go to this school yopu are most likely to come out with 9 STD's most of witch science haven't descoverd yet. If you do end up going to this school I hope you suvive, because the odds are agains you. You are most likely to be harmed by a student. The food is discusting all tho I have never tryed it my self students have told me they would raver drink rat poisen. Your beter off being home schooled rather than going to this abismall school.
Teachers good sometimes you can have a great teacher or a really bad one. An sometimes there biased we had an anti bully assembly. But the day before I was bullied an they did nothing even though I reported it
Students there’s these people normal an do nothing wrong an
The popular kids are just rude if your not there friend an are kinda Wannabe celebrities
An some kids take the mic out of some kids an special ed kids an treat them as “friends ,
An there’s usually a big thing going on at lunch that’s not good
Awful school, the leadership is shocking. All they care about is who can get the best paying job. You never used to see the headteacher due to him being on holiday in Canada all year round.
Feel bad for the teachers who have to do their best with what little equipment and assistance given
The staff that work there only care about grades and not about the well-being of students. All staff clearly favour the naughty children and there bad behaviour is normally rewarded. The school does nothing about bullying or anything to help students mental health. They got rid of the school counsellor and nurse so there is no help for students. Would have rather been home schooled
This school is amazing. They are such a supportive school and the teachers put a lot of effort into helping the students with all sorts of situations. They are handling the Covid-19 situation so well with only about 8 cases in the past year and a half. Couldn't be happier about the effort that the school puts in to provide students with the best possible chance at succeeding. They are bulidng new classrooms and learning centres, offering extra classes to those who want to do more and constantly pushing their students to the top!
don't recommend at all it it useless in giving out information the help you require it was the worst five years of my life
the catering teacher touches himself repeatedly in front of young children / adults
absolutely useless when it comes to bullying don't give you the help you need in lesson
they say they treat everyone the same but that is far from true the idolise those that do well and hide those who need help
to strict on uniform it was un-comfy and hard to work in
its a rubbish school over and I would not recommend it to anyone
